Hillary Clinton was on her way to the White House when she fell and fractured her right elbow on Wednesday. She was treated at George Washington Hospital. She will have surgery in the coming week.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Hot News Quickies, Thursday, June 18, 2009
A window washer, 21 year old Alex Clay, fell 6 stories when his safety rope didn't work. He shattered a bone in his left foot. He will not be working on high buildings again.

Financial - Hot News Quickies, Thursday, June 18, 2009
* Eddie Bauer went Chapter 11 and has a possible buyer for its assets, CCMP Capital Advisors. There are still operating through the bankruptcy. The company is based in Bellevue, Washington.

* European and Asian stocks slide again.

Weather - Hot News Quickies, Thursday, June 18, 2009
* The mid-west was hit with severe weather producing apparent tornadoes and torrential rains. Some areas received 8 inches of rain in 24 hours. The Weather Channel said that there were 23 possible tornadoes reported on Wednesday.

* The South will sizzle again today after reaching well over 96 in my backyard.
