The news is coming out of the National Football League fast and furiously today. Here are a few tidbits that might tweak your interest.

• Dorrelle Revis and the New York Jets came to terms. In principle, Revis agreed to a 4-year, $46 million offer, with $36 million guaranteed. Rex Ryan flew to South Florida over the weekend to finalize the deal.

• The Arizona Cardinals cut quarterback Matt Leinart on Saturday, but Leinart has since agreed to a one-year offer from the Houston Texans. No details of the contract were available, but his agent said the Texans agreed to keep a roster spot open for him.

• The San Diego Chargers, and Pro Bowl receiver Vincent Jameson remain at odds, and a contract resolution does not seem near. Sunday, Jameson's agent said they had a deal worked out with an undisclosed team for a trade, but it fell through because the Chargers were asking too much.

• The saga continues between Albert Haynesworth, and the Washington Redskins. After an unimpressive performance in the teams' final pre-season game, word is he may be on the inactive list for the first regular season game. The Redskins, as of now, are giving no official reason for the decision. It must be more than having a bad game, because everybody has those. However, it might be a way of showing Haynesworth who's the boss in Redskin land, and that person's first name is not Albert.

• Minneapolis Viking wide receiver Percy Harvin is back on the field. He missed the majority of training camp, because of migraine headaches. After collapsing on the field during camp, he and specialists devised a plan about how to deal with the migraines. Harvin said there's no cure for them, and he'll need to learn to work around them.

• He fought the move, but the Miami Dolphins put 10-year veteran Will Allen on injured reserve,basically ending his season. His knee hasn't returned to full strength since he injured it in 2009, and he needed arthroscopic surgery in August. Allen will probably request the Dolphins release him.

• To the surprise of no one, Sam Bradford is officially the starting quarterback for the St. Louis Rams. Coach Steve Spagnulo made the announcement, and said the organization has confidence in Bradford's ability.

• The Minnesota Viking's quarterback Brett Favre reportedly is receiving shots for his surgically repaired ankle. They say the reason for the shots is nothing that will prevent him from playing on opening day.
