Hot Pink Lips and Cheeks Makeup Tips

There are some ways to make hot pink lips and cheeks work regardless of skin tone and there are also some brands of makeup that will work better than others.

The First Lip Layer

This will be the base for the overall effect of hot pink lips and cheeks, so it's important to start off right. There are many nice shades of hot pink lipstick, but one of the better ones is MAC Hollywood Nights. This lays down a full, even shade that will carry through. Another good makeup brand is Maybelline and they have several good shades of bright pink. But regardless of the brand, choose a pink that will be strong enough to shine through and stand up

Next Layer

Next on the list for hot pink lips and cheeks is a glossy coat, which will add shimmer and highlights. MAC also makes a good gloss makeup for lips called Glossimer, full of sparkle and color. This will really bring out the first layer and will add highlights. Finish off with a lipstick liner to enhance the look and smooth out the design and you've got a good start. L'Oreal makes some good quality lip liners, such as their Colour Rich and Infallible brands.

Cheeks

This part of hot pink lips and cheeks makeup can be as modest or as wild as you like. It will depend for the most part on what the occasion is, but it might just depend on the mood you're in, too. There's nothing wrong with going out in broad daylight with hot pink lips and cheeks and it will certainly grab everyone's attention. Starting with the first layer, you can go all out with Smashbox Radiance Hot Pink blush. This is a strongly-hued blush, but it can be used alone or with other shades for a different hot pink lips and cheeks look. This part of the makeup is probably where the artistic side can shine the most.

Try complementing the initial blush coat with some other shades of pink for a multi-colored cheek. Daydew makes a soft but rich powder cream blush that can enhance the color of any other blush that is applied. For bolder looks you can mix and match shades in a broader stroke that covers more of the cheek. This will bring out the lip makeup treatment as well.

Other Tips

Naturally, the eye makeup will affect how the hot pink lips and cheeks look in the end, so try colors that will either accentuate or contrast the pink hues. Smoky browns and grays work well and multi-colored eyes can work well, too. Finally, the best hot pink lips and cheek makeup design are the ones that can be seen. Brushing the hair back away from the face will present the full-on effect, as will hairdos that use combs or pins to frame the face and the makeup.

I'll have to look for that Glossimer. I don't have any gloss and I'm noticing how popular it is. Thanks for the tips!
