Gone With The Wind-
Okay, there isn't a woman over the age of 50 that doesn't have a thing for Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh in this classic. When Ret scoops up Scarlet, and carries her up the stairs for the night, no one takes a breath the whole time. Scarlet wakes up the next morning with a glow that would make anyone envious. And why not, they're a couple that will be watched and enjoyed until the end of time.
The Quiet Man-
John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara is probably the most famous classic couple of all time. They played in many movies together. However, none so Hot as The Quiet Man. When John Wayne grabs Maureen O'Hara when the door flings open from the wind, and lays a kiss on her that ALL women dream of, it's mezmorizing. It's hard to believe with all the chemistry they had they didn't couple up for real.
An Officer And a Gentleman-
Okay, so is there a woman alive that wouldn't want to be scooped up and carried off by a man in uniform to go and live happily ever after? I know with my first marriage the Air Force uniform didn't hurt! Anyway, that's another story. Lucky, lucky, Debra Winger getting to snuggle up with and carried off by Richard Gere. Was he drop dead gorgeous in that uniform or what?
The Naked Jungle-
Oh my gosh, this is one of my favorites. Charlton Hesston was at his most gorgeous, and Eleanor Parker was stunning. When he grabs her at the piano after many minutes of wondering if they would ever get together, whispers Joanna, and lays a kiss on her from beyond anyone's fantasy, it was well, HOT! No, they had their clothes on, and didn't swallow each other's tongues. It didn't need one bit of that to be extremely sensual and sexy. We miss you Mr. Hesston!
The Thorn Birds-
Well, was there anything more tormenting than waiting hours during this 80's mini-series for Father Ralph played by Richard Chamberlin, and Meggie played by Rachael Ward, to finally get together? My gosh, the anticipation was unbelievable. However, if you watched this mini-series you already know it was worth waiting for. When he finds her on the beach and she tries to run off, and he grabs her and then falls on top of her, kissing her passionately, well it was the most romantic scene in history. The last thing on my mind was that he was breaking his priestly vows. I really liked it!
Well there's just a few Hot movie couples from the past. I know there's many more, so I'll be back to share some more favorites. Right now, I need to go cool off!
