Seriously folks, what is wrong with Brett Favre? He made the announcement last night, again, that he is going to retire, again. He will not play in the 2011 season. Really? For sure? Brett Favre won't be going to the big dance so he's opting out. Is this called running with your tail between your legs or making a smart move, again?
I don't get it, but I'm probably not supposed to. After all, what do females know about sports? I do know for sure that when a person (Brett Favre) retires from sports it's time to turn in the jock strap and move on. I know that if you aren't cutting the mustard you need to head to the locker room. I know that people don't want to pay good money to watch old dudes try to keep up with young talents. Maybe on "Old Timer's Day' but that's a different ball game. Quit already, we're tired of hearing it.
And now for a different ball game... college basketball!
UT Men
The University of Tennessee Knoxville (UT) versus the University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC) tonight, 9 pm tip off for the orange and white and the other orange and white. Bruce Pearl (UT), now he's my kind of coach. He is a New York transplant who wears a flaming orange jacket and talks with a 'Yankee' accent. He hasn't had an easy go of it and again has his work cut out for him.
UT Women
The Lady Vols (those ladies are the Knoxville ladies) play this evening at 7 pm, at Louisville, KY. The Lady Vols are the reason I got interested in college basketball. Well, their coach is the reason, Pat Summitt. Coach Summitt is basketball at UT. She has been the coach for 36, just started her 37th. Longevity should be her middle name. In those 36 years she's won 1037 games and lost only 196.
UT Trivia
Do you know why UT's colors are orange and white? Orange and white are the colors of a common American Daisy that grew on "The Hill", a part of the Knoxville Campus.
Do you know the song Rocky Top? If you attend an UT game you will be humming that song for days. A simple song written in 10 minutes in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It has 5 cords and the title is repeated 19 times during the song. One of the many reasons UT's opponents hate it!
Do you know why the school's mascot is a coon hound? Because the coon hound is a native breed in the State of Tennessee. A coon hound has been UT's mascot since 1953.

Your stats on Pat Summit are a little dated! Her record over the 36 yrears of coaching is: 1035–196, according to Wikipedia. SHe is truly a legend in her own time!
Good article..Bret should be able to retire on his previous earnings. I'm not the guy to feel bad for him financially.............He's getting A LOT ...LAME !
Favre needs to just keep hocking blue jeans, and forget the NFL.
