Hot Springs, MT 59845
United States of America
This is a hotel to visit, if you enjoy historic type facilities. The hotel has old charm. It feels like traveling back in time, back to the 1930s and 40s. The people running the hotel are friendly and helpful. It is interesting to nose around the lobby and look at all the old pictures and information about the history of the hot springs. Much of the furnishings are in 1930 style. Period prints and photographs are featured on the walls. The door handles and woodwork are in Mission style with glass door knobs. It features an upstairs upper type parlor sitting area. Downstairs there is a lobby with wood stoves, a couple small gift areas with local art and gifts, and a small cantina. The dining is casual, but nice. The menu is on board as you enter the eating area. There is a bar area with local artists that perform for evening entertainment. There is a pay phone in the lobby. It states that there is wireless internet access available. Massages, yoga, and special treatments can be arranged through the hotel. Private baths and a Jacuzzi are also available.
While this hotel has some modern comforts, including a big screen T.V. and coffee bar in the lobby area, do not expect all modern facilities. Depending on the room choosen, the facilities will vary. Some of the bathroom faucets are old style with hot and cold separate. City water is available downstairs in the lobby to fill water bottles, because the water at the hot springs tastes like sulphur. Some rooms do not have showers. None of the rooms have phones or T.V.s. There is no smoking in any of the rooms.
The hot springs are right outside the front of the hotel. There are two mineral baths and a swimming pool. There is an upper, hotter pool at 104 degrees and a lower pool, which is at 101 degrees. The mineral pools have a high mineral content to them, which makes for good soaking. The pools are in good shape. The view is of the town, with springs backing up to the neighbor's lot. The pools are well kept up and clean. There is a small waterfall between the pools and grab bars to enter the pool. There are small cement benches built into the pool for comfort.
