Phillip Chan
For many students, summer vacation means free days with great weather, especially if you live in Southern California. For paintballers, summer is a great time for all-day paintball games, buying new markers and gear, and trying out different themed paintball courses. SoCal is loaded with different paintball zones and arenas, so get outside with your friends for some awesome battle action and try out these courses today! Here are three great fields to visit this summer for paintball:

1. SC Village, the "premiere paintball field in Southern California" offers 25 different patinballs fields over an astounding 100 acres of space. It is truly and epic paintball park, with a huge array of different "themes" to the arenas. These include Cuba, Korea, Laos, Cambodia, Gettysburg, Iraq, Bosnia, Kosovo and many other themed fields, plus several hyperball and speedballs courses. Fields have crazy cover and items on them like old airplanes and even helicopters! Others consist of big bunker and trench systems, huge dirt and rock piles, tires, camo netting, concrete and more adds more "realism" to the big fields. They also offer airsoft games for those players more interested in plastic bbs and realism than paintballs and markers. SC Village prices for walk-ons are slightly higher than for private parties and reservation players. For walk-ons, it is $25 for a whole day, $20 for half day, $14 for a marker, and $6 for a mask. Paintballs and air are an additional cost. SC Village is located at 8900 McCarty Road, Chino, California 91710. Their phone number is (949)489-9000 and you can visit them on the web at http://www.scvillage.com

2. Hollywood Sports Park is one of the biggest names in SoCal paintball. They are affiliated with SC Village but HSP offers paintball plus other activies in Los Angeles, not Chino, California. HSP has several fields on 23 acres of space, with themes for fields including Godzilla, Saving Private Ryan, Starship Troopers and more. They also have airsoft games (See Giant Airsoft for more detail), rock climbing, RC tracking racing, BMX, Indoor soccer, a arcade, restaurant and a banquet facility, making it perfect for huge parties and events over the summer. HSP is located at 9030 Somerset Blvd, Bellflower, CA, 90706. Check out their prices, hours of operation and directions to HSP at their website, http://www.hollywoodsports.com.
