Hot Tip: Cooking Oil & Grease Stain Removal

Rand Duke
If you like cooking as much as I do, you are bound to one day have that tragic accident where you splash oil all over your favorite shirt. If you are like me, you probably scrubbed it to death hoping the stain would get out. Next, you probably tried a spot cleaner or added extra soap to your laundry cycle only to see the oil stain still prominently mocking you. Before you give up and throw out that shirt though give this tip a try. I make no claims to having discovered this or if it'll be successful for you. I have used this tip on several of my favorite shirts and have had great success so I'm passing it on in hopes that someone else will benefit. Special thanks to my sister who passed this tip on to me.

I've tried it on set-in cooking oil and grease stains and this seems to work great.

Supplies needed:

BAR SOAP (BUY THE CHEAP STUFF!!)
SPRAY BOTTLE w/ WATER

Lightly dampen the stained area with a couple squirts of water. Next, take that dry bar soap and rub it generously over the stained area and I mean generously. Once nicely coated throw it into your next wash cycle with the rest of your clothes. Cross your fingers and with any luck that pesky stain will be completely gone.
