Hotel Guide: Hauppauge, New York

So you have found yourself in Hauppauge, New York? Well, this city is located in Long Island, New York. Little people know that Long Island has a population of over seven million individuals, which makes it the largest and most populated island in the continental United States. It is also the seventeenth most populous island in the world. The name suites the island as well, seeing that is it much longer than it is wide, as well as the name means, "The Island that Pays Tribute." This name was given by the Native American's who were at relative peace with the Long Islanders who gave the Indians tributes and payments to avoid attacks. So, no matter why you are visiting the city of Hauppauge, New York, you are going to be in need of a hotel - well I have researched and reviewed the top three hotels in this city for your consideration.

The first hotel in which I reviewed is the Hyatt Regency Wind Watch. This three-and-a-half-star-hotel rests on an beautiful 18-hole golf course. The Hyatt Regency Wind Watch has been known for many years as being a getaway from the hustle of New York City and has quickly become a destination all within itself. This hotel rests on 230 acres of gardens and landscaped grounds, which creates a true resort style sensation. This hotel truly caters to all visitors, and this is seen by looking at its clientele: business travelers, weekend escapers, wedding parties, and other various leisure travelers. Some of the various amenities this hotel offers its guests includes an 18-hole championship golf course, which is a par 71, and a driving range for those of you who are wanting to practice your swing before heading out on the course. There is also a fitness center, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a spa tub, and tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts. The second hotel in which I reviewed is the Marriott Islandia Long Island. This three-and-a-half-star-hotel is located directly off of Interstate 495 Long Island Expressway, and is only 2.6 miles from the Hauppauge Industrial Corporate Center. If it is location you are wanting, than this hotel truly delivers, seeing that it is only 6.7 miles from the Islip Mac Arthur Airport, and is only 12.3 miles from the University at Stony Brook. Some of the various amenities this hotel offers its guests includes complimentary wireless Internet access, which is available in all public spaces. There is also an indoor swimming pool, a spa tub, golf course, and a fitness center fully outfitted with state-of-the-art fitness equipment. This hotel also offers complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport. This hotel has 265 guestrooms, all of which include high-speed Internet access for a surcharge, TV Internet access, complimentary newspaper delivery, and cable Television with complimentary premium channels.

And the last hotel in which I reviewed is the Wingate Inn. This three-star-hotel is located by all major industrial parks. This hotel is extremely new, opening in 2004, and is designed with business travelers in mind. This hotel has a complimentary fitness center with cardio machines and weight machines as well as a seven-person spa tub. Seeing that this hotel was designed mainly for business travelers, there is a complimentary 24-hour, self-service business center, which is outfitted with a computer with high-speed Internet access, a printer, fax machine, and a copier. There is also complimentary wireless Internet access available in all public spaces of this hotel. This Wingate Inn has 110 guestrooms in its six-story façade. All rooms come with complimentary wired and wireless Internet access, microwave ovens, coffeemakers, multi-line phones, coffeemakers, voicemail, as well as free local telephone calls.
