So, well, let me numerate this. It's easier that way.
This is what happened the first night we checked in. Yes, WE, because they wanted me to stay with them in the Hotel.
1) Elevators smelled like urine
2) Room was small, old and dirty
3) Bathroom smelled like urine. We thought maybe we should just flush it but the smell didn't go away and then the water in the toilet kept running.
4) The curtains were stained with what looked like droplets of blood. (They were brown stains)
5) No hangers in the closet
6) A pillow also had a droplet of blood for some reason
7) The desk was dusty as if it hadn't been cleaned in ages
8) The carpet was dark but the corners of the room were white/grey because of dust that has accumulated
9) The room didn't have enough towels. We were 3 people and they only put 2 towels in there.
I went down to the front desk before we went out for dinner. I asked for the room to be cleaned, for hangers, extra towels and to have the bathroom checked.
When we arrived:
1) No hangers
2) Bathroom smelled better for a while but I think they only sprayed it with air freshener. Didn't take a while for it to smell like pee again. Took less than an hour. Only good thing was toilet water was no longer running continuously
3) Carpet was not vacuumed
4) Okay, I think the beding was changed because the blood spot was gone
5) Desk not wiped
6) Carpet not vacuumed
7) No extra towels
8) Filthy curtains
It was too late into the night and we were exhausted so we slept on it. The following day (morning) I went to the front desk to complain again. Then we went out. We arrived after dinner. I again reminded the front desk if they could have our room cleaned and the beds made and bedings changed, it would be much appreciated.
When we arrived
1) No hangers
2) Bathroom still had a little smell in it
3) Carpet not vacuumed
4) Desk not cleaned (Had liquid stains so it's easy to tell whether or not its been cleaned) I couldn't stand it so I wiped it with a tissue
5) Beding was not changed. Bed was made but there were stands of hair stuck beneath the sheets. You can see the hairs stuck between the sheet and the matress because the sheets were thin and white.
6) No extra towels
7) Filthy curtains
I immediately ran down again to the front desk. This time I was furious. A nice young man took my complaint and I went back to the horrid room. Minutes later, the manager called to apologize and offered a free upgrade. We were staying in a superior room for 3 and they offered a better room in one of the suites. Obviously I said great. However, they were only able to upgrade us on the next day. They said there werent any room available. That night, they did send up hangers but the housekeeping staff who sent them even wanted to check our room to see if we were lying, I'm assuming. He asked to come in and inspect first.
So, we were upgraded, yes but again,
1) No extra towels
2) This time the room didn't come with slippers
3) Carpet still dirty but cleaner than the last room
4) Curtains seemed clean
5) Bedings seemed clean
We didn't have any other issues until about 24-36 hours later when we all had bed bug bites. Yes, bed bugs - and a lot of them. We ended up with bright red spots on our limbs, back, thighs - all over.
What did we get in return? An apology. Like that helps. No refund. Nothing.
I would never ever recommend this Hotel to anyone. B&Bs are far better and this was supposed to be a 4 star, or so I heard.
