Hotel Review: Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport

R. M. Dubuc
The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport is a luxury, Four-Diamond hotel located at the Orlando International Airport in Orlando, Florida. The convenience of the hotel makes it a favorite among frequent business travelers and those who want luxury accommodations while traveling through the Orlando International Airport. The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport is a great choice for anyone who has to stay in the Orlando for a night or two, and for those who have flight delays which may leave them stranded at the Orlando International Airport. The room rates at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport are comparable to those of other reputable luxury hotels, with the basic room rate starting at $239 per night plus tax.

Accommodations

The decision to stay at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport was prompted by a flight delay, which in turn, led me to book a new flight time for the next morning and inquire about reserving a room at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport. The quoted rate for a room with a King size bed was $239, the same price as standard double bed rooms. Check-in was very easy and a room was available that morning at 11 am.

The room was nicely decorated and included a work area and desk with high-speed internet access available. Since this was not a business trip, that service was not required on this trip, but the room clearly could accommodate anyone who needed to do any work while visiting. There was a balcony outside of the room. The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport uses the trademarked Grand Beds in the hotel rooms, and the bed was extremely comfortable to sleep on, especially after a busy day.

The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport is not a hotel for the budget traveler. On my stay, however, the last-minute decision to stay was worth having a luxury hotel room available for the day and evening before an early flight out the next morning. Ideally, this is a good hotel choice for those who want a quality hotel which is very convenient to early flight times and Orlando International Airport shops, restaurants, and amenities.

Services

The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport has an outdoor pool available for guests. This was a nice option for a hot Florida day and the pool was great for a quick swim. A 24-hour fitness center is also available for guests, though I did not use it on this trip. Room service runs 24 hours, making this a convenient option for those who want a late night meal. The daily paper was delivered to the room in the morning, perfect for reading on the flight home. Guests who want more services can utilize the concierge services available at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport.

McCoy's Bar and Grill offers cocktails and bar-type foods for hotel guests, and the Hemisphere restaurant offers a sit-down restaurant with a number of steak and seafood options. Other restaurants are very easy to reach outside of the hotel, but still onsite at the Orlando International Airport. The location of the hotel could not be beat for easy access to the many stores at the Orlando International Airport.
