Hotel Review: Marriott Louisville, Kentucky

Are you looking for a great place to stay on your next visit to the Louisville International Convention Center in Kentucky? You need to look no further because the Marriott Louisville Downtown Property located at 280 West Jefferson Street in Louisville, Kentucky is a great place to stay. The hotel offers a number of room styles including a single king or two double beds, suites and executive suites. The non-smoking hotel's rooms include cable television, internet access, telephones with available voice mail, iron and ironing board, hairdryers and coffeemakers.. The Marriott Louisville is conveniently situated downtown and is connected to the International Convention Center via covered walkways. The hotel is located approximately six miles from the Louisville International Airport and shuttle service is available.

The 616-room, 17-floor hotel offers a two concierge levels and over 50,000 square feet of meeting space within the hotel. The famous "Champions Sports Bar & Restaurant" is in the lobby as well as the BLU Italian Mediterranean Grille and a Starbuck's Coffee. The hotel accommodations include high speed internet access, complimentary news papers, a business center a fitness center, swimming pool and dry cleaning/laundry service is available. The rooms are clean and handsomely decorated including amenities such as cable television, cordless telephones with available voice mail, iron and ironing board, hairdryers and coffeemakers as well as room service.

There are a number of local attractions conveniently close to the hotel including the 4th Street Live (the party capitol of Louisville, Kentucky) and connected to Louisville Slugger Museum, Louisville Center for Arts, Waterfront Park, Churchill Downs, and Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom as well as a number of pubs, taverns and sports bars that line the streets of 4th Street Live. Valet parking and concierge services are available and there is a $10.00 per day parking fee to use the Marriott Louisville parking facilities. The wait and room service staff are friendly and accommodating. Check-in time is at 3:00 PM local time and checkout is at noon but arrangements can be made for early or late check-in and checkout.

If you are a light sleeper, be sure to request a room that is on a higher level away from the meeting rooms especially on weekends as the music and crowds can be loud and may go late into the evening. In addition, as with most hotels in big cities, the airport aircraft traffic will be noticeable as well as the street traffic. The elevators in the hotel are quick and efficient and did not present any undue noise that might disturb the rooms that are located near them.
