Hotel Review: Rodeway Inn in Revere, MA

Angelie MacKenzie
I stayed at the Rodeway Inn, located on American Legion Hwy in Revere, MA, when I rented a car and went up there to buy my vehicle. I made the reservation with hotels.com before I left Virginia. It took a lot longer to get to MA than yahoo's map service had estimated it. Some hotels do not guarantee late arrival, but Rodeway Inn kept my reservation even though I arrived in the middle of the night.

When I arrived at Rodeway Inn, I cringed at seeing the neighborhood I was in. I feared that the next morning my rental car might not still be outside. Unable to find somewhere to park, I went inside and told them it was a problem. The manager (I guess?) had one of the employees move her car so I could have the parking place. That was really nice of both of them.

Afraid to leave anything in the car, I hauled all of my stuff up to the room. If they have an elevator, I missed it. But this is a small place, so I doubt they have one. Exhausted and considering it was after midnight, I went straight to bed upon entering the room.

The next morning, I took a shower after checking my e-mail. The water was barely warm and there was barely any water pressure. The water pressure was so bad that rinsing my hair was a challenge. I've never stayed at a hotel that had these problems. But ever since this happened, I worry every time I stay in a hotel that it'll happen again. I cannot stand it when the shower isn't almost hot.

I had to check out early that morning since I needed to have breakfast and then go to the dealership to pick up my vehicle. (I went all the way to MA because it was the only dealership that had exactly what I was looking for). At check out, I told the staff about the problems with the shower, but they were rather disinterested.

When I stayed at this hotel, it wasn't located near any restaurants. This means that you have to drive to somewhere to eat. I didn't want to eat until I was almost to the dealership, which was in Hanover, MA. So, I don't know how far away the closest restaurant was.

If someone is unfamiliar with Revere, MA then they aren't going to have any idea about the seemingly bad neighborhood until they arrive. The showers have probably been fixed since I stayed there, but it'd be best to inquire about it before making a reservation. Regardless of the problems, I do recommend this hotel if someone needs to stay in the area. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. Other than a decent shower, you can't ask for much else.

A very honest appraisal- just what readers want to know.
