Hotel Review of the Sofitel New York

The Sofitel Hotel in New York is one big hotel. This hotel is 30 story's high and a very stunning building to see it really is something magnificent to see. There are close to 400 rooms here so you should never have a problem getting a reservation with them. When you stay here you will be right smack in the middle of the action and there is plenty to do around.

I have a suggestion that I have for you that is very important so pay good attention. When you make reservations try to make them for a room above the 7th floor. There are two reasons for this suggestion. One is if you stay on the 7th floor or lower you will not get a view of anything expect for what is going on across the street. However, if you go up a flight or two, then you will have a much better view of the city.

The other reason is that this hotel is on a really busy street so there is a lot of commotion going on outside. So, if you want to avoid hearing that noise then I would recommend that you get a room as high up as possible. If you go above the 7th floor you should be just fine. I am telling you if you don't take this tip you will miss out on some good sleep.

Here is an issue that you may or may not be able to control, but their telephones can be a little problematic. They ring at random times in the morning! Let me tell you it is not a joy to hear such noise at random times; these random rings that sound more like buzzing happens between 1:30am and 5:30am. This may not be everyone experience when they stay here, but I am just letting you that this is a possibility!

On a more positive note I would have to say that the staff is great and very much on their toes. You might even grow fond of the doormen because they are so friendly and give you cool tips like where to find the best pizza locally. On rainy days they have umbrellas for you if you are not prepared with your own.

Everything here looks super nice. I think the word to describe how this place looks is chic. It is very chic and sophisticated. Maybe it is not the most kid friendly place in the world, but it would still be ok to bring them.
