Hotel Review: Staybridge Inn in Columbus GA

If you're looking for a place to stay for the night in the Columbus GA area, be sure to check out the Staybridge Inn, (www.staybridgeinn.com) located at 1694 Whittlesey Rd Columbus GA; their number is 706-507-7700.

Located 7 miles from Fort Benning, the Staybridge Inn turned out to be extremely nice. You walk in and the receiving room it will remind you of walking into a log cabin's living room. There is a huge stone fireplace, massive beams showing in the ceiling, big comfortable chairs and couches and a big screen TV, without all the animal heads and such of course. They have their own minimart for people who have forgotten things, as well as a very unusual breakfast bar set up. When I say unusual, I don't mean the normal morning breakfast that is set up by some of these hotel chains. They also have a fitness room, on site laundry, a business center, a pool, and conference rooms available for guest's usage.

Overall I was very pleased with our stay here at the hotel. The first night we were in a suite which included a separate bedroom, walk through closet, a nice kitchen, 2 TV's, fold out couch, and more. The only complaint I had about this room was that the air conditioning wasn't working, making our room hot and muggy. They kitchens come fully stocked with pots and pans, silverware and place settings, towels and dish soap, a nice full size refrigerator, a large microwave, and a small stove top. But I made due with what was there.

Our second night, we asked to be switched to a different room due to the air conditioner. This time they put us in a smaller room. This one didn't have the separate king size bedroom, nor the second TV (so we made due with out.) But it did have the kitchen; walk through closet and the king size bed, just like the other room.
The hotel is very clean, almost brand new, the beds were comfortable, and I must say for being as close to Atlanta as Columbus is the hotel is reasonably priced ($90 for a weekend night).

The only major issue I had was with housekeeping, who didn't know that I had extended my checkout till 2pm and did their complaining right in front of me instead of away from the customer. I was also impressed with their own hotel guide which has recipes in it for guests to cook in their smallish kitchens.
