The Trails Motel is the only place in the city of Townsend where you can rent a one bedroom unit during your visit. This small eight room motel does not have cable but you may be able to watch up to 10 channels on the color TV, weather permitting. Small and medium dogs up to 40 pounds are allowed in the motel's two pet friendly rooms with a $5 nightly fee and a $10 pet deposit. You will receive the deposit back after a short inspection during check out provided your pet has not damaged the room.

The cabins at Birch Hills Resort are located on the recreational lake, Townsend Flowage and in close proximity to the Nicolet National Forest. Three cabins are available for rent and each includes three bedrooms, one bathroom and a kitchen with full size refrigerator, microwave oven, toaster and a coffee maker. Color TV and a DVD/VCR players are provided but you will need to bring your own bath towels. Birch Hills owns a private beach where you can enjoy your own picnic table, fire pit, charcoal grill and a boat dock. Pets are welcome at two of the cabins with an additional $25 fee. Cabin rentals require a minimum three night stay during the summer months and a two night stay during the winter as of November 2009.

Hillcrest Lodge is a full menu restaurant in Townsend with three cottages overlooking the Townsend Flowage available for rent. The three bedroom cottages can accommodate up to six guests while the four bedroom cottage sleeps eight guests. Each cottage includes a refrigerator, stove, coffee maker and a toaster. Dishwashers and microwaves are included in some of the cottages and guests will need to inquire about these amenities when making reservations. Bed linens and comforters are provided but towels are not.

The Indian Springs Lodge is located approximately 5 1/2 miles outside of Townsend. The lodge features an indoor pool and whirlpool, gift shop, fully stocked bar, arcade room and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Northern Lights Bingo and Casino is attached to the lodge to provide you with 24-hour gambling and entertainment. The conference center accommodates up to 400 guests for weddings, meetings or other gatherings and employs an on-site caterer and baker for your special occasion. Room rates range from 75.00 to 150.00 nightly as of November 2009.
