Located on the Freedom Trail in just down the street from the Boston Common, the Parker House is also the first stop on the New England Literary Trail. Emerson, Thoreau, and Dickens all stayed there, and Malcolm X was at one time a bell boy.
There are two restaurants and a bar. The famous Parker's Restaurant is birthplace of the Boston Creme Pie and the Parker House Roll.
Sites of historical significance within a five minute walk of the Omni Parker House include the Boston Common, the Public Garden, Beacon Hill, the Massachusetts State House, the Old State House, Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, King's Chapel, and the site of the first public school in America.
