Hotels in Orlando Near Orlando International Airport (MCO)

Travelers looking to keep close to the Orlando International Airport have many choices.

The hotels I have researched offer many of the same amenities and features. They all have coffee pots in the rooms, they all offer fax, copy, internet (though sometimes it's not free), daily housekeeping, pools, whirlpools and meeting rooms. There are also many differences, including décor, dining and services. Prices will vary depending on the time of year and holidays.

You can't get any closer to the airport than the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport. This hotel is attached to the airport and is located on Level 4.

The Hyatt is equipped with soundproof guest rooms. It seems like they would have to be, considering it is in the airport!

Guests can have their luggage taken to their rooms directly from baggage claim.

The hotel has massage and shopping services. The 3rd floor in the airport is full of shopping.

There are ballrooms, board rooms and even and amphitheater. Fill your stomach in one of the in-hotel eating establishments. A bar and grill, steak and seafood restaurant, sushi bar and a lounge are all there for the guest's dining pleasure. Then go and work it all off in the 24 hour fitness center.

With 11 different types of rooms, the pricing is varied. I found rooms to be an average of $259-$324 a night. These were not suites. Check in is at 4 pm and check out is at noon.

Crown Plaza Orlando Airport Hotel is located less than one mile from the airport. The hotel offers complimentary 24 hour airport transportation.

The Crown Plaza offers 8 meeting rooms which can be equipped with just about anything you need for a successful meeting. They keep an LCD projector, overhead projector, 35 mm slide projector, digital projector, flip charts, white boards and more. Catering is also available.

Eat at the in house restaurant or have drinks in the lounge. Live jazz performances are held in the lounge during the week.

Average prices per night range between $137 and $235. Check in is at 3 pm and check out is at noon. Late check outs are available

Kids eat free in the hotel restaurant. Room service is available from 6 am-11pm.

Get online in the Internet Café, use the public PC or your own laptop with the free wireless service. High speed internet is also offered.

Quench your thirst with the two bottles of complimentary water every day in addition to the coffee and tea in the room.

La Quinta Inn Orlando West Airport Hotel is only a few miles from the airport. The La Quinta offers a free shuttle from 5 am until 11 pm daily.

Enjoy a continental breakfast every morning while you read your complimentary copy of USA Today.

The La Quinta has fully functional meeting rooms, free high speed internet and local phone calls.

Have a drink in the hotel's lounge/bar or take a swim in the outdoor heated pool.

The average rate is $99.

Looking for childcare or somewhere a bit closer to the theme parks?

Gaylord Palms Resort and Spa in Kissimmee is 17 miles from the airport. The hotel does not offer a free shuttle to or from an airport but they do work with a transportation service that offers tickets; both round trip and one way.

They do offer "free" shuttles to the Disney Theme Parks.

This hotel offers a full service spa, an adult only pool, piano bar, ice cream shop and many restaurants. A family beach, pool and children's water slide is also available. Gaylord Palms offers a supervised children's program called La Petite Academy Kids Station.

Beware this is a resort and many fees apply. Valet is $18 or $12 to self-park. A $15 daily resort fee applies to cover bottled water, internet, shuttle service and local phone calls up to 20 minutes.

Volleyball, bocce and a 9-hole putting course is there for guest entertainment.

There is a business center and many meeting rooms. Dry cleaning and laundry services are available.

From the reviews found online, previous guests warn about the high food prices in the dining establishment's onsite.

Average prices per night at the resort are $199-$359 using Travelocity.com. Check in is 3 pm.

If where you lay your head at night is important to the experience of your trip, researching the area hotels is key. Hopefully this short list is a helpful start.
