Ok, now that you've decided on purchasing that special someone the gift of gab, you've got to decide on what type of phone they could use. My number one tip is to try and think of their main uses they prefer of their current phone. Like for instance if all they really use their current phone for is to talk then they might not be interested in one of the more advanced phones known as smartphones or pda's. Also try to incorporate their favorite color if you can. In some cases, it may be possible to buy them in different colors, but as a second option you may opt to purchase a cover attachment or matching carrying case in their favorite color. Theses tiny details will prove that you do pay attention to details about them and are trying to make this a special gift.
Now that you've narrowed your options down by the uses for the cellphone comes the overwhelming task of choosing a phone model. Don't worry, it's not as difficult as the sales representatives sometimes tend to make it. Just read through my list of the top three cellphones to give as gifts below and hopefully choosing a cellphone will not be a difficult task. I've tried to include some major differences and uses that will help you choose the perfect gift for your loved one this holiday season.
- Apple Iphone: This cellphone is amazing to say the least. It is a fully internet connected, touchscreen, multimedia cellphone with endless features. It is somewhat pricey and should probably be given to individuals who are very tech savvy. Speaking first hand, these cellphones have a lot to offer such as internet browsing, email, photo and video options, visual voicemail, wi-fi, and equipped with a portable media player. And don't forget that along with the cellphone you will need to purchase a media package on a monthly subscription plan also. This can turn out to be a very costly gift in the long run. So make sure the person you are buying this p hone for would take advantage of all the available features or it could just be a waste of money.
Cost: Prices begin around $199.00 for Apple Ipone.

-Samsung Slider: This is a great choice for those people who prefer the bar type of cellphone rather than the flip phones. They come with great features such as text messaging, 1.3 megapixel camera, stereo bluetooth, quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band HSDPA radios, and has a slot for the microSD memory card.
Cost: Price without commitment plan is $219.99, but with a two year commitment plan it is only $69.00 and if you act fast, AT&T is offering a $50.00 mail in rebate and then the phone would only be $19.99.

-Nokia 6555 Flip Phone: This phone offers a 1.3 megapixel camera, live video capture, music player, text messaging, instant messaging, video share, bluetooth, push to talk, and many other features. It's layout keypad is very simple and this would be a great cell phone even for those who don't need all these extra features. Who knows, with this phone being so easy to navigate, maybe even just the talkers will begin to take photos and share video files.
Cost: Price of this phone is an average of $239.99 without a commitment plan. Or if you choose a refurbished one on the plan, your cost will be $0. Which is great!

Please note, another great option when buying a cell phone as a gift may be to search them down on Ebay. They offer a wide variety of phones all a bargain prices.

Thanx, I was needing a photo of a phone, and when on wikipedia, it had weird restrictions that I couldnt understand, so just got mine out and tried to take a cool one of our driveway. I'm glad it turned out cool, like a pic in a pic. lol. The road really looks neat.
Thanx everyone for the comments!
it would be great if cell phone companies offered gift certificates, then you could give one for that persons provider and they could choose their own phone. I don't know, maybe they already do.
Great photo! I would like a cell phone for Christmas!
I'd love that Apple iPhone, but who can afford the monthly subscription that you need to really take advantage of all of its features? Oh well...
What a great photo!
