Josh Holloway was born in southern California, but lived for most of his young life in Georgia (which is where his trademark southern drawl comes from). His young adult live was like that of any other struggling actor. After a short stint in college, he spent years working as a fashion model and traveling the world for his job. After that he made a full transition into acting. Some of his first gigs were in small, lesser known comedies and dramas. He also had a role in the classic Aerosmith video for Cryin', which also starred Alicia Silverstone and Liv Tyler. One of his more notable early projects was the SciFi channel made for TV movie Sabertooth. But still Josh Holloway remained a relative unknown. He struggled for eight year before he got the chance of a life time; an audition for a brand new TV show called Lost.
We now know that Josh Holloway passed his audition with flying colors and was cast as James "Sawyer" Ford. His character is easily one of the most complex on the show; he's a con man with a dark past, who took the name of the very man who's actions destroyed his family. But of course, underneath all his layers he has a good heart. Or does he? The way Josh Holloway plays his character definitely keeps fans of the show guessing! Since nabbing the coveted role, Josh Holloway has been on the cover of Details magazine, Men's Health, Entertainment Weekly and numerous issues of TV Guide. TV Guide has also named him one of TV's Hottest Hunks, which I definitely can't disagree with!
During his break from lost he shot his first leading role in a feature film, called Whisper, which is due out in 2007. He plays Max Tremont, a kidnapper who gets more than he bargains for in the upcoming thriller. Even though this is his first venture into potential blockbuster category, Josh Holloway was offered the role of Gambit in the movie Xmen 3, only to turn it down for feat or being typecast (the character of Gambit was too similar to his character on Lost). Obviously, the man knows where he wants to go with his career. Only the future will tell where Josh Holloway goes after Lost ends, but whether it's movies or TV I will definitely be watching.
