Brief History -Thanksgiving
As per my research the story of thanksgiving in America is given below:
"Thanksgiving" in Greek is Eucharistia. Thus, the Body and Blood of Christ is the true "Thanksgiving Meal".
An interesting bit of trivia is that the first American Thanksgiving was actually celebrated on September 8, 1565 in St. Augustine, Florida. The Native Americans and Spanish settlers held a feast and the Holy Mass was offered.
A second similar "Thanksgiving" celebration occurred on American soil on April 30, 1598 in Texas when Don Juan de OƱate declared a day of Thanksgiving to be commemorated by the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Squanto, the hero of Thanksgiving, was the Native American man who mediated between the Puritan Pilgrims and the Native Americans. Squanto had been enslaved by the English but he was freed by Spanish Franciscans. Squanto thus received baptism and became a Catholic. So it was a baptized Catholic Native American who orchestrated what became known as Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving party games
Thanksgiving games are basically family based games, and you should keep in mind that no one is left . You should arrange such a way that every one of the family participates and the dinner is also enjoy.
There are countless thanksgiving games both online and offline. It all depends which one you choose for your family.
Family Trivia
The family head one any one responsible prepare list of know facts about family members and conduct a special family trivia competition by making up questions based on that list.
Thanksgiving Pictionary
Create cards or chits and allow other member of the family to guess what then are drawing. This way you can create fun and enjoy with whole family. You can also use black board for this purpose and an atmosphere of thanks giving games, which are meant to have fun with your family.
Who's Thankful for What?
This one is really one of family favorites , give each of the family member and instruct them to write one reason why they felt to give thanksgiving . Then the smallest member of the family who read will read for others. The best thanksgiving message will be given gift. This way you can enjoy with your family.
Turkey Bingo
Turkey Bingo game is easy for all age to play. If your family has a lot of younger children attending, then you may want to choose a picture style bingo rather than words, letters or numbers. Bonus: If yours is the type of family that fights for the drumsticks, make that the prize for the bingo winner. If not, how about the first serving of dessert.
Ultimately roasted turkey and dining with your family and enjoying, is what thanksgiving is.
