"House of the Black Bird," the third episode of House of Anubis, was included in the movie. In "House of the Black Bird," Patricia's increasingly bad attitude grates on everyone's nerves, Nina makes a new friend and ally, and Amber struggles with her jealousy over Mick's friendship with Mara.

After seeing the message on the mirror, Patricia rushes to get Mara, saying it's about Joy. Amber follows them, and they find Nina wiping the mirror with a towel. Patricia can't believe this is happening. She tells them that the message said, "Help me. Joy." Now that it's gone, people will really think she's crazy! Victor suddenly appears, with Corbiere on his shoulder. He demands to know why the girls aren't in their rooms. Dodging the question, Patricia says she doesn't want to room with Nina. Nina offers to move out, but Victor says no one is moving. Mad again, Patricia stalks off, with Mara and Amber close behind. As Nina tries to leave, she comes face to face with Corbiere.

At breakfast the next morning, Patricia is still whining about Joy, and it's driving Jerome crazy. Mara thinks he's being insensitive. Patricia doesn't know why Joy hasn't answered her e-mail, and she wants to question "the newbie." Fabian tries to reason with her, saying Nina just has really bad timing. She showed up the same day Joy left, and she decided to wipe down the mirror just when Patricia wanted everyone to see it.

As for the message on the mirror, Amber says Mick told her he saw Alfie sneaking around upstairs. Patricia thinks that's a bit much even for Alfie, a statement that leaves Jerome flabbergasted. Fabian announces that Nina left for class early since they haven't exactly been friendly to her. Mara admits to feeling "a bit mean," which angers Patricia.

On the sidewalk outside Anubis House, Nina meets an elderly woman who says it's her house. Nina knows she doesn't live there, but she placates her. Thinking the woman must be cold, Nina removes her sweater and places it around her shoulders. The woman stares at Nina, looking puzzled at first, and then says, "It's you, isn't it? I knew you'd come." Confused, Nina asks her inside for coffee, but the woman changes her tune. "I can't go in there! He's waiting. He's always waiting," she says ominously. Nina promises to come back with help.

Patricia beats Alfie with a pillow for his cruel prank. Alfie swears on the life of his dog, Sprocket, that he didn't do it. Jerome teases that she'll have to accept that the possibility that something sinister happened to Joy. Patricia leaves, mad as always. Alfie then admits to Jerome that he doesn't have a dog. He's allergic to them! The guys laugh, at Patricia's expense.

While washing dishes, Trudy tells Nina that there's an old people's home less than half a mile down the road. The woman probably wandered in from there. She offers to call, but Nina says she'll take the woman back. After all, she's the friendliest person Nina has met since her arrival. When Trudy looks stunned, Nina adds, "Except for you." This scene wasn't in the movie, which was edited.

Amber stops by Mick's room to see if he wants to walk to class with her. While she's there, Mick gives her a present. "Oh, Mick! I love it!" she says before opening it. She unwraps it and finds a bracelet, prompting her to throw her arms around him. He knows how much she likes things on her wrists! She's not thrilled when Mara stops by to see what time Mick wants her help with biology. Amber offers to help him instead, which makes him laugh. They agree to meet at 6:00. Making a play on Mara's name and how miraculous she is, Mick calls her "Maraculous." This really doesn't set well with his girlfriend!

When Nina returns Sarah to the home, the caregiver says that Emily is confused. Hearing herself being referred to as Emily, Sarah puts her finger near her mouth in a warning to Nina. Nina sees a picture of Anubis House on the wall and mentions that the elderly lady said she used to live there. The caregiver says it's not likely, but the truth is they don't know much about Emily's background. The same is true of the other residents.

Patricia confronts Mr. Sweet in his office, demanding to know why he said that "someone" was there for Joy instead of saying it was her parents. She also wants to know why Joy left her phone and hasn't called her. Mr. Sweet says that maybe she doesn't want to, but Patricia doesn't believe that at all. Mr. Sweet shoos her out, looking unsettled after she leaves.

Amber agrees to let Mara help Mick one time, but that's it. The two girls find Patricia staring at the class photo on the wall. Patricia tells them that Joy used to be in the photo, but now she's not. The others find that hard to believe. They think she was absent that day, but Patricia knows she wasn't.

After getting Sarah settled in her room, Nina accepts the caregiver's offer of a cup of tea. Sarah removes an unusual-looking locket from around her neck and gives it to Nina. It's the Eye of Horus, which is all over Anubis House. Sarah says she's been waiting a long time, keeping the secret, and now it's Nina's turn to keep it well hidden. If they find it, they'll take it. "They take everything away from you in the end," she says sadly. Nina tries to refuse the gift, but Sarah insists, saying it will keep Nina safe. "There's a treasure hidden in that house, and only you have the power to find and protect it." She warns her to be careful, saying there's danger and evil in Anubis House. Her final warning is to "beware the black bird."

That night, Victor announces that it's 10:00pm, which means they all have five minutes and then he wants to hear a pin drop. Fabian rushes down the stairs.

Nina has a nightmare featuring Sarah, Victor, and black feathers. In her dream, the feathers are falling on her--but it's not just a dream. Feathers are really falling on her as she sleeps!
