House MD season six, episode nine begins with Wilson and a friend who is also an ex-patient hunting for Turkey's in the woods. Tucker played by Joshua Malina has recovered from Leukemia with Wilson's help and beat the cancer against all odds. Unexpectedly Wilson's friend Tucker loses feeling and control of his arm and nearly shots Wilson.

Once at the hospital Wilson notices Tucker's girlfriend has a cold-sore and in what he refers to as a "House moment" diagnosis his friend. Meanwhile House and the team treat a Mexican patient who ends up being ill due to a popcorn diet. House uninterested in his own case bets Wilson that his House moment was incorrect and the patient's cancer has returned.

House feels Wilson is not seeing the true diagnosis because he is friends with the patient. Cuddy agrees and also asks Wilson if it's okay to contact his one of his exes, Bonnie who is a realtor to find a new house for her and Lucus. The two make an offer on a two bedroom loft. House chalks this move up to Cuddy having a mid-life crisis and says that it doesn't bother him.

Wilson's patient and friend experiences tingling in his feet and then a severe cough and what looks like a stroke. Wilson attempts to use House's team to help diagnose anything but cancer, but after a lung surgery is proven wrong. House does extra tests to reveal he is correct and Tucker has a different type of Leukemia than he had before.

After normal treatment fails it is decided that this cancer is also resistant to Chemo-therapy because of the patient's past treatments. Wilson comes up with the idea to double the dose to cure the patient and argues that it is what House would do. House counters that while it is what he would do; Wilson cares for his patients and couldn't handle the failure if the treatment goes wrong.

Wilson decides to try the double chemotherapy treatment anyway with the patient's blessing and it is a success. The cancer is gone, unfortunately so is the patient's liver. Tucker ends up needing a liver transplant within 24 hours to live. House finds a motorcycle accident victim with a matching blood type, but he is not an organ donor so the two head off together to the next of kin's home to ask for permission to use the liver.

The sister refuses due to religious reasons and before House can convince her, the motorcyclist's liver becomes unviable. Realizing he his doomed to death Wilson's friend attempts to convince Wilson, who is a blood type match, to donate a lobe of his own liver. The patient uses a touching story about wanting more time with his wife who he had previously left for a younger woman. Wilson considers and House calls him a "door mat". Wilson becomes angry with house and kicks him out of his apartment. He then asks Cuddy to allow him to donate the liver lobe. Cuddy agrees, and also reveals her offer on the loft was declined.

Wilson asks House to attend his surgery and in an unusual display of humanity House says in season six, episode nine that he won't go because, "If you die, I'm alone" in reference to Wilson. Just as Wilson goes under for surgery House arrives to watch anyway.

House MD season six, episode nine closes with House and Wilson looking at the same loft Cuddy had made an offer on. The two make an offer on the loft as Wilson thinks it a proper punishment for Cuddy's treatment of House. House feels this is a "baby step" to not being a doormat for Wilson.
