'House' Season 5 Premiere Starts Series Strong
A Review of the Returning Series, Which Starts Its Fifth Season as Strong as Always
This season starts with the spicing of the cold war between House and Wilson, which promises to be a nightmare for both of them, therefore a thrill for the viewers, following the death of Wilson's girlfriend, Amber (or what House liked to called her "Cut-throat Bitch").
For those that have not been following the series, House and Wilson have been best friends throughout the first four seasons. In fact, Wilson is House's only friend, which is kind of logic, given the way he treats people, let alone someone he would call friend.
So, from hiring a P.I. to stalk Wilson himself, House will do the weirdest and funniest things to gain back Wilson's friendship... Or at least his attention.
What is not changing is the most interesting factor of the series, which is House personality. How he always has an ironic insulting way of telling things, how his brain turns things in a complex way that always ends up making every other character in the series hate him... Which is why we admire him; because we would like to treat people (at least some of them) which such a demeanor, wouldn't we?
As opposed to last season in which we were introduce with several new characters, from which House selected his new team, maintaining the old characters active as well, this season offers only one new character (at lease, so far in two episodes), which seems to be a crappy but at the same time effective P.I. Still, this new character is surely to provide a whole new level of situations outside the typical healthcare investigation of those complex cases House loves.
In summary, the beginning of the new season of this excellent series makes us who love it celebrate one more time the news that it will be around for at least another couple of years.
The only question remains to be if at some point there would be a case House handles that turns out being Sarcoidosis?
If you don't get it, even rent the first four series, or just watch the reruns and marathons running on cable right now. You won't regret it.
