As a floor cleaner, I can tell you that vinegar is simply wonderful. After sweeping, I heated some water and put it in my mop bucket with a half cup of vinegar. Nothing else, just hot water and vinegar. The floor was clean and shiny, and the room had a clean and fresh smell. I was very pleased with the results.
Next, it was time to do laundry. Again, I was out of bleach and even low on laundry detergent. I divided what laundry detergent I had between loads and added one-half cup of vinegar to the laundry. When the clothes were washed, they were clean and all odors were gone. Again, a great success!
The bathroom needed a good scrubbing too. The heated water with vinegar had worked so well with the floor and laundry, I decided to try it to clean the sink, tub and toilet. When I had finished cleaning, it sparkled and smelled, oh so clean!
The windows were all smudged so I also used a clean wash cloth with vinegar to clean my mirrors and windows. The vinegar left the windows clean and with a streak-free shine. Another great thing about vinegar is that it is also a disinfectant. It will kill most mold, bacteria and germs because it is highly acidic.
Vinegar also works well as a stain remover on clothing. Rub a little vinegar on a stain, penetrating the fabric. Then, blot the stain and repeat, until it is removed. Not only does this work well, it is much cheaper to buy than commercial stain removers.
The list of cleaning chores you can use vinegar on is endless. Try cleaning the refrigerator with a solution of vinegar and water. Mineral deposits can affect the taste of your coffee, so try running a pot of vinegar and water through the coffee maker on a regular basis. Vinegar and water solution also makes a great carpet cleaner.
I am very glad I decided to try my hand at cleaning with vinegar. It practically cleaned my whole house. I used very little. I may never go back to my old cleaners again! I am thinking of the money I will be saving by not buying those expensive cleaners any longer. Try using vinegar for housecleaning. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the results.
