An Omgpop Game

Hover Kart Battle is a free online multiplayer game available on the gaming slash social networking site omgpop.com, previously known as iminlikewithyou.com. Hover Kart Battle is also available on Newgrounds.com. It was submitted to Newgrounds on October 17, 2009 and won a Daily Feature award on October 18, 2009. It currently has a score of 4.05/5.00 based on votes from the Newgrounds.com community

Hover Kart Battle allows players to attack each other while driving what are called hover karts. There are a variety of weapons that are available. Up to eight players can play at a time.

The items are scattered throughout each arena. To obtain an item, simply drive over a yellow-colored tile on the ground. An item will be given to you randomly. Items include all of the following:
-Hover Bomb, which shoots straight and continues to bounce around until it hits a player.
-Hover Missile, which features a homing device that will lock onto a player. If it hits a wall or other obstruction, it will explode and be wasted.
-Mine, which is dropped behind you and remains until a player runs over it. Everyone is vulnerable to mines, including those that drop them.
-Timed Mine, which is similar to the previously mentioned Mine but instead of remaining on the arena until hit, the Timed Mine will detonate 2 seconds after being deployed.
-Shockwave, which hits any players nearby.
-Item Thief, which steals an item that another player is holding on to. Activating Item Thief also makes the user invisible for a short period of time.
-Force Field, which makes the user invincible for a short period of time.

In Hover Kart Battle, players can drift to fill a bar at the top of the screen. Once the bar is full, players will be given a Hover Bomb.

Each player generally has three lives, designated by the hearts. Getting hit by an item will take out one heart. Losing all three hearts equates to a loss in the game.

As with other games on omgpop.com, playing the game with a valid account can save your progress as you increase your experience and level up. At higher levels, you can purchase more items in the in-game shop. Items include additions to your avatar as well as new hover karts.
