Hover Kart Racing Overview

Hover Kart Racing is an online multiplayer racing game available on gaming/social networking site omgpop.com. Hover Kart Racing was also submitted to Newgrounds.com on June 15, 2009 and won a Daily 4th Place award on June 15, 2009. It currently has a score of 4.15/5.00 based on the Newgrounds community of users.

Hover Kart Racing is a typical racing game with a good number of different tracks of varying levels. To play, simply use the arrow keys to control your hover mobile. Use the Up arrow to accelerate. If you are playing a game with Items activated, you can pick up items by running over the yellow squares scattered throughout each track. To use an item, simply press the spacebar.

For more advanced gameplay, use the Shift key to make your vehicle hop. This is a precursor to the coveted drifting technique. Mastering this can improve your racing skills immensely. The more you drift, the more the bar at the top of the screen will fill up. Once it is full, you can obtain a free boost item.

Other items that can be found in-game include the following:
-Hover Bomb, which shoots straight and bounces around
-Hover Missile, which has a homing device
-Mine
-Force Field, which makes you invincible and faster for a limited time
-Item Thief, which steals an item from an opponent as well as make you invisible
-Nuke, which, which activated, attacks nearby players
-Smart Bomb, which attacks the current leader
-Auto Pilot, which is obtained when you are at the rear of the pack and is used to get you pack in the game

At the bottom right hand corner of the screen, you can view the number of laps you need to race through. You can also see how long you have driven so far. At the very bottom right hand corner you can see how many red jewels or gems you have collected. Collecting these allow you to recover quicker from attacks.

Hover Kart Racing implements a leveling system that allows one to access different items in the Hover Kart Shop. Players can level-up by obtaining a certain amount of experience. Experience can be gained by racing. Whether or not you win a medal in a race, you can still gain experience. Making an account will have your progress saved automatically.

The Hover Kart Shop includes a variety of items that can be purchased using coins. Coins are obtained by logging in and/or playing games, depending on the coin system at the time of play. Items in the shop include different vehicles, avatars, power-up items, and kits. Check out the in-game store for more details. The newest items include a Cobra Striker vehicle and a Bentley Bling Supreme vehicle, both of which currently sell for 60,000 coins.
