How to Achieve Paris Hilton-Like Skin with Oil Removal

Wiping your hand across your forehead and coming up with greasy film is no one's idea of healthy skin. Since our skin may love to produce hormones at rapid rates, it is up to us to control that mess. Thankfully, there are alternative ways to combat oily skin on the market that does not require over-the-counter gels and rough, brillo-like facial pads. A few of these ways include using steam, oil absorbing sheets, water, and a variety of foods you never thought could treat oily skin.

For starters, oily skin can be helped through the use of steam. Opening your pores before cleaning your face helps to temper oil. It's simple - just boil a pot of water, remove it from the stove, and drape a towel over your head. Proceed to lean your head over the pot, creating a sauna zone - a blast of heat hitting your face that is bearable with deep and relaxed breathing. Through this method, the steam is trapped by the towel allowing it to open your pores. Immediately afterwards, go ahead and use a mild cleanser along with a moisturizer (Keri skin oil works wonders) for your skin.

A second way to eliminate oil skin temporarily is through the use of oil absorption pads. Consider these facial filters, designed to flush out the oil from your skin like a sponge. These are especially useful during the middle of the day, when oil is most likely to accumulate. You can find them at any local pharmacy or drug store. Third, did you know that honey and lemons help prevent oily skin? Honey is a versatile concoction designed by our very own bees that also serve as natural moisturizers and antibacterial agents. In addition to cleaning, it softens the skin as well. Just apply about a teaspoon of honey to your face, spreading it throughout and letting it stay for 15 minutes. After rinsing well with lukewarm water, you should be able to immediately tell the difference. Use this method as often as you'd like.

Lastly, oily skin can be helped by squeezing lemon juice and blotting the juice to your face with a piece of cotton. Unlike honey, you'll only want to dab this natural remedy for 3 minutes before rinsing it out. In case of skin irritation, it is a good idea to mix it with witch hazel, an astringent that helps draw out dirt from your facial pores. All in all, even the simplest products can turn a greasy face dry and moisturized in no time.
