Foods can cause acne.
The first step to take is to eliminate any foods that you have had an averse reaction to in the past. Anything that caused hives, eczema, swollen lips, effected your breathing. These foods may be causing the acne.
These foods have been proven to cause acne: chocolate and cola. These are foods that you should eliminate if you are experiencing acne. Next on the temporary removal list are refined carbs (including sugar and flour). These refined carbs can hinder the immune system thus creating a weak system. Fried foods, sea food, and foods high in salt can also trigger acne in some. Removing all these foods temporarily and then reintroducing them to your diet a little at a time will allow you to see which ones if any are causing the blemishes.
Vitamins are needed for healthy skin.
Eating lots of carrots, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, tomatoes, spinach and other foods that are high in beta carotene which converts to vitamin A can help to clear your skin. The amount of vitamin A that is needed for clear skin daily can be found in four carrots. Juicing is great way to increase your beta carotene intake as a daily part of your morning routine. It is safest to eat foods high in beta carotene rather than take vitamin A as taking too much vitamin A can lead to toxic levels.
Vitamin B 6 is also is a key vitamin for clear skin especially for females (at any age) whose acne is caused by their menstrual cycles. Vitamin B6 helps your body handle excess hormones . It is recommended to take a B Complex vitamin daily.
Makeup is a great way to conceal existing acne:
The best way to conceal acne is with make up. Concealer, foundation and finishing powder are the basics. Stick with oil-free and hypoallergenic. Test a small area of skin under your jaw first. Give it twenty four hours and watch for hives or acne in that area. Wash face and apply acne medication (over the counter or prescription from the dermatologist.) Then spread on the concealer on any red blotchy areas. The foundation is spread evenly over your face. (If you use a sponge be sure to toss it daily) The finishing powder is applied lightly over your face to set the makeup and ensure that it survives the day. Key: do not wear make-up to bed. Let your skin heal and "breathe".
Enjoying clear skin will be a process. Once you begin to experience clear skin do not take it for granted. Continue to care for your skin and body daily. Listen to your body as you choose what to eat. Beautiful is possible.
