How Actress and Model Daisy Fuentes Keeps Her Sizzling Shape

Many actresses and models look fabulous in ads, the movies, or TV. All that makeup, expert hair stylists, and perfect lighting combine to make these stars shine. In reality, though, it's not necessarily always the case. It takes real effort, from following a careful diet to exercising regularly, to maintain that beauty in the "real world." Daisy Fuentes is one of the rare exceptions who understands the work involved.

In a recent interview with Health magazine, Daisy defined natural beauty as "something that comes from within," and she named Audrey Hepburn as her "natural beauty icon." Daisy has a simple diet secret that helps her to stay slim and keep her skin gorgeous: she drinks extensive amounts of water.

"If you don't drink enough" water, Daisy told the reporter in the Health magazine interview, "it shows in your eyes and your skin."

Many dieters think that they are hungry when, in reality, they are thirsty. By regularly drinking water throughout the day, as Daisy does, you can avoid false hunger and keep your weight loss goals more easily. You'll also have clear, gorgeous skin and eyes.

Asked for her best tip for losing five pounds fast by the interviewer, Daisy recommended paying attention to what you drink. "Don't drink calories!" she advised. That is a mistake many dieters make. They may drink orange juice at breakfast and have a cup of coffee with lots of cream and sugar, then have a soda mid-morning. With lunch, they might have another soda, and then a big coffee drink with various syrups added in the afternoon, followed by another soda with dinner, and another coffee drink after dinner. All those liquids often are not regarded as fattening by dieters. In reality: they can add up to 1,000 calories or more a day - half of your daily calorie allotment!

As Daisy cautioned, "You can drink a meal's worth of calories in one Frappuccino or smoothie."

Daisy also incorporates exercise into her busy lifestyle. To prepare for swimsuit season, she works out harder, increasing her workouts "so I feel like things aren't jiggling as much," she was quoted in the article.

The popular actress and model also drinks oolong tea in the morning. The "Chinese tea is known to get our metabolism started," according to Daisy. And, when needed, she is a firm believer in getting enough rest. "Nothing does it for you like a power nap."
