How to Add an Active WebPage to the Desktop

Note that on your Windows desktop, you can add dynamic elements or even website pages, which can be practical to view the weather at a glance for example. These elements remain in the background, over the wallpaper, and under the icons. We will see how to add a website.

1 - Display a Web page on your desktop

First right-click your desktop anywhere in a blank space and click on "Properties".

Click on "Office" then click "Customize Desktop"

Now click the tab "Web" in the window that opens, then click on "New".

A new window will then open.

In the "Location" enter the name of the website you want to display, for example here "http://www.weather.com" to display the weather, then click "OK".

Click OK. Windows will synchronize the site; do not touch anything it takes only a few seconds.

Your site has been added, click "OK" (2 times).

Weather.com web-page is now visible on your desktop.

You can resize the window as you wish, in the same way as a regular window.

To synchronize the site automatically, position your mouse in the upper left, a border appear with a small arrow, click it and choose "Properties".

A window will open, click the "Planning" tab.

Check the "Use Planning as follows" then click "Add" below.

Therefore specify the parameters of your new plan. For example I choose to synchronize the page every day at 8:00. Set this as you see fit. Finally, click OK.

The updated plan will appear in the list, click "OK" to confirm.

Now you can quickly look at your desktop at any time and view the weather. You can add any website you wish and even add multiple pages. I added weather and a news website so I always have the latest top stories. I've also found that performance does not suffer when doing this.
