1) Copying AdSense Code
After you have customized the appearance and settings for your ads, a box with your AdSense code will appear. This is the code that you will copy and paste into the pages of your Web site or blog. To copy your code you will highlight the entire contents of the AdSense code box, click Edit in your browser's menu, and then select Copy.
2) Pasting AdSense Code
a) Blog - Pasting code into a blog is a relatively easy process. First, access the blog post that you would like to add code to, and then click Edit. In the edit mode, you are given the option to view your post in the visual (What You See Is What You Get) mode, or as HTML. Select HTML. Position your cursor in the place you would like to add AdSense code, click Edit in your browser's menu bar, and then select Paste. Save your changes and view your post. Your ad should appear immediately.
b) Web site
To add AdSense code to you Web site you will need a text editor and a file transfer client (FTC). Your computer may have a basic text editor in its collection of standard features. Check the applications folder on your hard drive. File transfer client software in available for download from internet providers. (Recommended providers for both of these tools is provided at the end of this article.)
Begin by opening an FTC connection. Click on the icon and follow the prompts. When the connection is open you will see files for every page on your Web site, as well as files that store images, PDF's, and more.
Next, double-click on the file you would like to edit. It will appear on your desktop. Open your text editor. With a new window open, select File in your text editor's menu bar, and then Open. Locate and single-click on the file you would like to open. With the file highlighted, check the "Ignore Rich Text Commands" box that appears at the bottom of the panel, and then click Open. Your source code will be fully editable upon opening.
Finally, place your cursor in the position that you would like to add your AdSense code, click Edit in your browser's menu, and then select Paste. Save your changes, and drag your file back into to your FTC. Refresh your Web page. Your ad should appear immediately.
