While there are a number of plugins available to streamline and customize your advertising possibilities, there are a few things that you can do for yourself. No downloads needed. If you're using one of the many themes that aren't directly from WordPress, make certain that it's widget ready. Themes that require coding have a totally different process for this.
Step 1: In your WordPress dashboard, open gpresentationh. A toolbar will open up saying gthemesh, gwidgetsh, and gtheme editorh. Open gwidgetsh.
Step 2: Youfll be in a screen that says gSidebar Arrangementh. If you donft see a box within the sidebar template marked gtexth or gtext 1, look below where youfll see several little boxes that say things like gMetah and gPagesh. Find the one marked gtexth and left click on it. Keep the left mouse button down and drag the box into the sidebar. You can drag and drop any number of items wherever you want them within the sidebar.
Step 3: To the right of the word gtexth youfll see a small box with a blue line at the top and 3 smaller black lines, it should look sort of like a piece of lined paper. Double click on this to open the editor. If you hover your mouse over the box it should say gconfigureh. If the editing box doesnft open, try holding down the gCtrlh button on your keyboard while clicking the configure box.
Step 4: Paste the HTML code directly into the box. You can type in a title such as gThis Blog Recommendsh, or leave the title area blank. Click the X at the top, right corner of the editing box when youfre done. To the right youfll see a button that says gSave Changesh. Click it.
Step 5: View your page. Do you like where you placed the ad? Did the code turn out correctly? If not, go back and continue editing until your page looks just the way you want it.
This method of inserting ads works with just about any HTML coded ad thatfs available. Ifve used it successfully with AdSense, Amazon, and several other affiliate companies. Of course, youfll need to sign up for an account with each of these in order to get the ad code and get paid.
