Another year and another list of New Year's resolutions are coming your way. For some reason the New Year sparks an old flame and makes people feel like this is the perfect time to start something new and for many it is. It is just enough of a push to make people want to make changes and in 2011 there are some beauty changes you should add to your New Year's Resolutions list. The changes do not have to be huge or expensive for that matter but slight additions to your daily beauty routine that can make you feel like a million bucks for accomplishing a small task. If your up to adding a couple of beauty trends into your routine for 2011 check out these trends that may just make love your new look.

Purple Eye Shadow

Luckily, the 2010 trend of purple eye shadow is making it's way into 2011. The main difference is the hottest tone is a softer shade of lavender. Wear this shade just above your eye liner to give your eyes a pop or paint the eye shadow from brow bone to your lash line to create a runway style appearance.

Red Lip Stick

Red lipstick can be so tricky depending on your skin tone but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a try. To create a softer look skip the lip liner or add a high lighting gloss to the color to reach a palette you can't live without. You don't have a high lighting gloss? If that's the case add a smudge of soft gold eye shadow to the centers of your lower lip and work your way out. The trick is to not add too much so your lip stick doesn't become matted and to create a hue that's just for you.

Bold Eye Liner

Black is always in but you can create a bold look with colors such as teals and turquoise. If the color is bright enough you can skip the eye shadow and add heavy mascara to create an intense look.

Smokey Eyes

Smokey eyes have been popular for years and have been replicated in nearly every color and shade. Black, navy, brown and recently bronze is a hot ticket when creating an over the top smokey look but what about cobalt or electric blue? Add this bright color to black eye liner for a rich, vibrant creation.

White and Gold Eye liner

Though these eye liner colors are usually the last colors someone would choose it's a good choice to define the eyes when you're feeling a bit sluggish and droopy. White eye liner perks up your eyes and can be used with another shade for the upper lid. Choose a gold tone for darker skin tones to get the same bright eyed look.
