How to Add Color to Your Kitchen

Shannon Frye
When it comes to kitchens they are very important. You will need to put a lot of work into your kitchen. If you are going to sell your home you want to upgrade your kitchen as much as possible. People will usually gather in the kitchen when meals are being cooked. The kitchen is a very important area and you must decorate the kitchen. You will want to pick out a specific color that is not too bright and decorate the entire kitchen following this color scheme.

For example, if your cupboards are a light brown color you will want to stick with this color through the kitchen. You can paint the walls a light cream or light brown color to accent the cupboards and add color to your walls. If you have white walls you can keep the walls white or you can paint the walls a very light blue color to bring a light blue color into the room.

Depending on what color your cupboards are you can do a lot with the room. You can have white cupboards and paint the room a light cream color and stick with that theme through your kitchen. You don't want brown cupboards with pink walls and white appliances. In order to make the kitchen look good you will need to stick with one color.

Adding color to your walls can do a lot for your kitchen. You can paint the walls a dark color and it will make the room appear to be smaller but it will give it a rich tone. If you lighten up the color of the walls it will make your kitchen appear to be more bright and it will make your kitchen look larger as well. Painting the room can really make or break your entire kitchen, which is a very important part of your home.

You will want to base the color of your walls off of the color of your cupboards. You do not want to change your cupboards to make the color of paint that you use because it will be very expensive. If you don't like the color of your cupboards you can always sand them down and stain them a different color. You can also paint over the cupboards if they have been painted before. There's a lot of things that you can to keep the color going in your kitchen. Use fake plants and different things you can purchase from the craft store to make the color flow through the room.
