How to Add Songs and Videos in Myspace

Have you ever wondered how to get that favorite song of yours to play in the background of your profile page? Alternatively, have you ever wanted to add a video to play on your page but did not really understand how? This tutorial is designed to teach you the basics you need to know to turn your Myspace into that vivid webpage packed with sound and video.

It is possible to put Myspace song on your Myspace in minutes, and with a few simple clicks, songs can be added to your profile easily. Myspace also is full of available videos that are free and can be added to your Myspace.

To add a song to your Myspace, log into your Myspace profile and click on Edit Profile as it is shown in the edit box. Next, direct your mouse to the link that reads Profile Songs. It is found at the top, right-hand side of the page, and is located next to the Networking link in the editing section just above the area where you change the headline in your profile.

Once the pages loads, you will notice a link that reads Find a Band in Myspace Music. Click on that link to be taken to a page where you have the options to choose from a variety of songs to be included in your Myspace profile. You may want to search for the song by entering the song name or other common keywords such as the name of the artist or came of the album.

You also have the option to sear for songs by genre. To search for songs by genre, scroll down to the section where it reads Top Genres and then select the genre you want to browse in.

Once you find the song you have been looking for, you may preview the song by listening to it. Click on the song to hear it play. If you are satisfied and are sure that this is the song you desire, click on the Add link listed near the song which is right next the a link entitled Lyrics.

On the next page, you will see a confirmation, which asks you if you really want to add the song to your profile.

Click the Add Song to Profile tab to add the song to your profile.

You now have ready song playing on your Myspace profile. To learn how to add your favorite video to your profile, the rest of the guide will explain that topic in further detail.

Go to the main editing pages, and direct yourself to the main editing box. If you uploaded any pictures onto your profile, you will find the main editing box with your picture in it. If you are unsure where the editing page is, you can start fresh by clicking on the Home link, which will take you to the Myspace start page when you login.

Click the link titled Add/Change Videos, in the main editing box to be forwarded to your main video management page.

On this page, you have several options to choose from to continue onto another page. If you want to upload your first video, click on the Videos tab to choose from hundreds of videos in the Myspace library. Just like when adding song to your Myspace, you are able to preview the videos by watching them first.

After making your video selection, you can scroll down a bit past the playing video, to view a series of options you can choose to continue. In the section entitled Rate this Video, click on Add to My Profile, and then you will see the link change to a message reading 'Video added successfully'. You now have added the video to your profile.

You are not limited to only using videos provided in the Myspace library, as Myspace offers you the flexibility to upload your own videos as well.

To upload your own videos, click on the Upload tab while in the video section.

Once on this page, you are required to fill in some brief information about your video. Included is the description of the video, tags, and whether you wish for your video to be searchable on Myspace. You must then accept the ToS on Myspace before clicking on Continue. Your video must not be pornographic and you must own the rights to the video, or risk losing your Myspace profile.

With your knowledge acquired from this guide, you now have the ability to customize your Myspace profile by adding music and playing video on your page for everyone to hear and see.
