How to Add Sparkles to Your Photo in Photo Brush

Jasmine Starr
Photo Brush is a new program that you can use to add special effects to your photos. Photo Brush is a lot like Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, and Fireworks. The difference is that it is not as hard to use. You do not use layers and stuff when working with Photo Brush. If you are new to graphic programs and you just want to add special effects to your photo, then this program is for you. You can also retouch photos and crop photos in this program. In this Photo Brush guide I will show you how to add sparkles to your photos. There are two different ways to do this.

First, you will need to open the photo that you want to use. If this is your first time using this program, I will show you how to open your photo. Open Photo Brush and let it load. Then go to the top of your window and click File > Browse. When the window comes up, you will need to locate the photo that you want to use. Then click the Load button at the bottom of that window. Your photo will load in the Photo Brush window. If the photo is large, it may take it a minute or so.

Now that you photo is open, you are ready to add your sparkle. You should see a Basic Toolbar at the bottom of your window. If you do not see the toolbar, go to the top of your window and click View > Panels > Basic Tools. That will display your toolbar at the bottom of your Photo Brush window.

Look in the toolbar and click the Nozzle Icon. On the right side of your screen you will see a box that says Brushes. You will also see two little arrows, one pointing up and one pointing down. Click the down arrow until you see the black icons in the window. Please see the images that I have provided to get a graphic view of what I'm talking about. Once you get to the black icons, you will see four different icons in that window. Click on the last icon, the sparkle icon.

To place the sparkles on your photo, simply place your mouse where you want the sparkle to go, and click your mouse. You can change the size of the sparkles too. Above the icon window you will see a line with an arrow at the end of it. Slide that line to the left to make the sparkles small and slide it to the right to make them larger. To change the color and look of the sparkle, drop the box down at the top of the Brush window and change the settings. Each setting does something different.

There is another way to add sparkles to your photo. Click on the Effects Tab at the bottom of your window. If you do not see your Effects Tab, go to the top of your window and click View > Panes > Effects. That will bring your Effects Tab up. Click on the Sparkle Icon. Your mouse will turn into a cross. Using your mouse draw the sparkle on the photo. The size of the sparkle will depend on the size that you draw the circle.

That's how you add sparkles to your photos in Photo Brush. Please see the images that I have provided if you have trouble with the brush window. If you have any problems with this Photo Brush Guide, please feel free to leave me a comment at the bottom of this window.

Hi there. I appreciate your instructions as to how to leave sparkles. I think I was mislead with this software. This is not a software to add animated sparkles? Can you suggest a program that does?
