How an Affordable and Simple Wedding is Possible in New Jersey!

A Few Ideas and Suggestions

Mrs. Renee
You are probably reading this title and thinking that this sis an impossible task to accomplish. I have found however that you can have a very nice wedding for only five hundred dollars, regardless of where you live. This article however will guide you step by step on how to plan a wedding in New Jersey for only five hundred dollars. The first thing that you will need to do is make up your guest list. Keep in mind that the bigger your guest list the more money you will end up spending. To keep your budget to the five hundred limits you should have no more than eighty people. This would mean that you will probably have to keep your list to family and close friends. Some people may be a little unhappy that they were not invited, but that is something that they will just have to get over.

Once you have your guest list all prepared you will have to find your venue. In order to keep your budget your best option would be to choose a VFW hall or some type of club, like your local elks lodge. These places have very nice sized halls that you can rent for a reasonable price. If you stick with no more than eighty people or less than you should be spending no more than $150 on your hall rental. This is half of your budget but don't worries you will still be able to get the job done so to speak. If you want to spend little less money on the rental of the reception than you can choose to use a friends or family members yard for the reception. You can than offer to pay than a reasonable e amount for the use of their yard. Make sure that the amount is no more than one hundred dollars. Le them know that you are working with a strict budget. Most will have no problem will allowing this. If you are worried about rain, then you can very easily rent a canopy for the occasion along with chairs at your local party store. Most of these places offer reasonable prices for the rental fees. You will probably end up spending about $100 for everything. Next item on your check list will be food. Now in the past what you served depended a lot on the time of the wedding. Now however people seem to be serving whatever they want when they want. Remember that it is your special day and you can serve whatever you want. Many people who are trying to stay on a budget simply purchase a few bottled drinks from their local supermarket. Then if you or someone you know happens to have a Costco or BJ's membership, then you can get appetizer platters for a very reasonable price. You will basically only be serving appetizers and drinks. Make sure that you put this on your invitation so that everyone will know they will not be getting a full meal.

If however you choose to serve a full meal you can have all of your guests bring some type of dish. Just put down that everyone should bring enough food to feed their family and a few extra people. This will help to guarantee that everyone has enough to eat, and it will definitely be an enjoyable event for all. When it comes to the dresses and transportation this is where the rest of the money will be spent. Don't worries you will still have enough for fresh beautiful flowers. Just remember that when it comes to shopping for flowers get wheatear is the most reasonable in cost. Remember the key to having an affordable wedding it to just keep things as simple as possible.

You can not rent a tent for your backyard for $100 and drinks for 80 people (even if you buy them at the grocery store or BJ's) is probably well over $100. Plus this wedding would totally suck. You may as well go to the courthouse and then go to a restaurant. At least then your guests will be fed.

Ridiculous and impractical. Your suggesting a potluck dinner in your friends backyard with no music or dance floor? That sounds like the worst wedding EVER. Not to mention your budgeting is severely flawed and you did not factor in the cost of a ceremony and officiant, invitations and other necessities.
