How to Get All 7 Skills in Twilight Princess

Bruce Bostwick
Another installation for the Nintendo Gamecube Version of the hit game The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. There are 7 skills in the game but only required to obtain one. It is advisable to get them all and it will help you greatly in your quest to defeat Ganondorf. It will also require you as well to have the ability to be a wolf as well so that's really the most obvious part of the statement. There are 6 howling stones located all over Hyrule and it is up to you to find them. Here are some ways to get them after the 1st skill.

1. Ending Blow

This one however as stated before won't be necessary for a howling stone. What you will need to do is make sure you are in human force otherwise you won't meet the wolf. All the essences of light have to be collected for Ordon Village and you become your human form but can't transform at will since it is in the beginning. The location is right before going into the Forest Temple. A golden wolf will stand and look at you and charge at you going into a mystic land. Follow the steps and you will learn the Ending Blow, which is a very important attack.

2. Shield Attack

This is the 1st of 6 stones that you have to find. Make sure to be in wolf form because there would be no way to locate the Golden Wolf without it. When you're heading to Death Mountain, it'll be in Twilight form where no one can see you at all. The location of it is near a geyser so go to it. Follow the rhythm, as there are some indirect references in tunes with both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. This particular rhythm was from Majora's Mask, the Song of Healing. After following the rhythm, the location of the wolf will be revealed near Ordon Springs. You must restore light to Eldin Province and return to being a human and get near Ordon Springs and you get the skill the Shield Attack.

3. Back Slice

There is a stone here located in Zora's River area of Lanayru Province. Zora's Domain must be thawed and the river must be flowing in order to have access to the stone. With east and west being counteractive, go to the northwest of Iza's cabin. Howl at it of course and the theme for this is the Oath to Order, the theme used mainly for the last part in stopping the moon to crash summoning the 4 Giants in Majora's Mask. After that, go to the platform west of Castle Town and be in human form. Then you learn the skill of Back Slice and that's going to come in handy in later battles or facing off with other enemies.

4. Helm Splitter

The location of this stone is near going to find the Master Sword. It is near the North Faron Woods. There are quite a few gaps so you'll have Midna helping you out in your case. Go through the gaps and the stone is near the entrance of the Sacred Grove. Once activated, the Golden Wolf shall appear and then you have to go to the south of Castle Town. It is important to finish your objective and get the Master Sword initially so that you have the ability to transform at will. For this theme however, it is the Ocarina of Time's Nocturne of Shadow. Once done with that, the mighty warrior to gain a new skill in the Helm Splitter will then test you.

5. Mortal Draw

There is a stone-located right new the tower in Lake Hylia. The best bet is to actually go where you meet Auru trying to find him. After that, make sure to climb the ladder to the top of the tower and also transform yourself into a wolf. If you don't have that power, then it would be best to wait before doing such a thing. After taking care of that, the Golden Wolf will be waiting for you in the northwest section of the Gerudo Desert. With that, you encounter the mighty warrior and attempt to master the Mortal Draw. The theme used for this is Ocarina of Time's theme is the Prelude to Light.

6. Jump Strike

The location for the stone is in Snowpeak area. To be more specific, it's south of the spot that leads to the underground cave. Make sure to be a wolf to howl at it and then once that is done, the Golden Wolf will now be located to the graveyard in Kakiriko Village. Once you arrive and master the technique, it will be revealed as something much more powerful than the regular jump attack that Link has done. It can hit many enemies at once.

7. Great Spin

The location of the final stone needed to get all the skills assuming you picked them up in order is on the east side of Hidden Village. In order to reach the location, you have to smash through the windows of the nearby building as the stone is in the backyard. Transform yourself into a wolf and howl at it. The theme is not from either one of the 2 previous Zelda games mentioned, as it is a new theme. A golden wolf will appear in Northern Castle Town along with the exit that leads to Hyrule Castle. Make sure you are human and this mysterious warrior will teach you the Great Spin. This attack can only be done when your health meter is full. In a way, it is like when the earlier Zelda games like the 1st 2 that come to mind where Link must have full health meter for energy to come out of his sword.

This will also work for the Wii version, just remember to substitute the east and west directions since the two games are more or less mirrored. What's east in the Gamecube version is west in the Wii and vice versa. That is the key so there's no direct confusion and to be clear. This will help you gain those skills and help you on your quest to winning the game.
