Purchasing new vehicles in today's economy requires due diligence to detail. That being said, yes, I would personally love to purchase a new vehicle this coming year.
The things that I will be looking for in a new vehicle will be durability, safety, comfort, and good gas mileage. To me this seems like reasonable things to look for in a new vehicle.
I need a vehicle that will last. As going out every year or even every couple of years to purchase a new vehicle is just not something I consider to be very smart. Not to mention the fact, it is not something I'd really want to do.
When I begin my search for a new vehicle, one of the first things I'll most likely do is to listen to others who have recently purchased a new vehicle. This will help me to decide whether to choose a local dealership or not. Customer service is still very important, to me.
I don't want to deal with overly pushy sales personnel, who may wish to steer me towards a vehicle I don't feel best fits into my budget.
When I've settled on a dealership, I will begin giving more care and consideration as to what type of vehicle that I will buy.
As a general rule, I do not wish to buy imported, because buying imported then complaining about the economic job situation of many is just plain hypocritical.
Now, back to the topic, "purchasing a new vehicle, this year", there are a few things you should do if you are not partial to any particular brand of vehicle, foreign or domestic. Number one on your list should be to check Consumer Reports, for any recalls, safety issues, and so on.
High gas mileage in a new vehicle means very little if the vehicle you purchase is very uncomfortable, and has many safety recalls.
Purchasing a new vehicle is a major decision; you will spend not only a lot of your hard earned money to do this. You will also spend a lot of time in your new vehicle. Comfort needs to be given generous consideration.
Quality information about vehicles can be found on the manufacturer's website. Also statistics, for particular vechical can be found on many consumer report sites.
I've found for me the best way to find if I like a particular vehicle, is a performance test drive.
