You've seen it on television, four to six couples or families vying for first place in a race that takes them to exotic places and forces them to work together. It is the ultimate scavenger hunt, it is The Amazing Race. How do you get involved in this exciting new game? The internet is you first stop.

Potential contestants on The Amazing Race need to make ww.cbs.com/primetime/amazingrace/application their first stop. Producers of the show ask that contestants fill out the application, which is extensive, and includes a three minute video requirement. Because the show is taped literally all over the world, producers also require that copies of valid United States passports be included with the initial application. The applications also include a waiver which has to be signed by each person in your group and two photos, one of each individual and one of the group or couple together. There is a list on the website of cities where casting calls are held so it is important to clearly print on your application form the number that corresponds with the city you are closest to. This enables producers to include you in the casting call that is best for you to attend.

The video to be included with your application must tell why your team would be perfect for the show. The tape itself needs to be labeled with the names, relationships and phone numbers of each person in the group. All members of the team have to be able to travel to the city chosen for your casting call should you be picked. The Amazing Race is a high energy competition and potential contestants need to realize that it is a competition. Members of the teams are competing and at times in very harsh conditions. This show is not for the weak at heart, mind or body.
