1. Bling Bling it!- When your jewelry begins to look un-vibrant and lack luster soaking it in an ammonia solution can turn that all around. Add 1/2 cup ammonia, 1 cup water and a pinch of dish detergent, then soak your jewls in it for about 10 to 15 minutes. The ammonia will gently dissolve the grime and dirt on the jewelry without damaging the metals. I do not reccomend cleaning any jewelry with colored jems or pearls as it may be
damaging.
2. Removal of sweat stains- We all know what its like to have a nice shirt, you go to put it on and ugh the armpits are stained yellow. At that point usually it's time to just get rid of the shirt because those stupid armpit stains don't come out right? Wrong! try this 1 hour before you get ready to wash the clothing soak it in a mixture of equal parts ammonia and water. The ammonia's akaline componets will neutralize the stain causing acids in sweat. Releasing the stains from your clothes.
3. Give indoor plants a boost- Sometimes those plants that you hold so dear to your heart and home may not look so hot. Often times that is due to the soil they are growing in is too acidic. By watering your greenery with a mix of 1/4 cup ammonia dilluted by 1 gallon of water each week the akaline liquidwill balance the PH levels in the soil allowing your plants to continue to grow beautifully.
4. Ridding that baked on mess- So you recently baked your favorite pie and the sweet oozing filling that leaked out is all stuck to the bottom of your oven. You dread opening it because you know its gonna take you at least a half and hour to scrub it clean, fear not ammonia can help. Take a bowl and in it put a 1/2 cup of ammonia and place it in the oven on the top rack, close the oven door and leave it in there over night. The gasses in the
ammonia will diffuse throught the oven and the akaline property will loosen the baked on mess. You wont even have to scrub!
5. Keeping critters out of your trash cans- Squirrels, raccoons, cats or possums what ever your pest problem, an ammonia soulution coould very well be the answer. Mix equal parts ammoina and water and spray the trash cans and the area around them. The ammonia has a nitrogen content that the animals can detect and they will think that the territory and stay away. For continued effectiveness this should be repeated once a month.
