How to Make Apple Coffee Cake

  • 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 3 med apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat 8x8 square pan with cooking spray. You can use oil and flour if desired.

  2. Step 2

    In a medium bowl, mix the flour, gran sugar, baking powder and salt. In a large bowl cream butter and egg until light, then stir in the milk.

  3. Step 3

    Then when all of that is thoroughly mixed add the flour mixture. Mix just a few strokes to make sure that all the ingredients are moist. Do not over mix. the batter should not be smooth!

  4. Step 4

    Next stir in apples. Spread the batter in pan. In a small bowl combine the brown sugar, cinn and chopped pecans. Sprinkle over batter. Bake in oven for 50-55 min.

tips:
  • Make sure you aren't over mixing your batter...it will make it fall after baking!
  • Double to fit in a 9x13 pan
