How to Apply the Falsies Mascara by Maybelline

Amanda Furbeck
The Falsies is Maybelline's newest addition to their line of great mascaras. This is not your average 'make my lashes a little more noticeable' mascara. Nor is it for wallflowers or anyone wanting to blend into the background. This mascara is going to have all eyes on you and your peepers!

Maybelline's "The Falsies" are a great alternative to false eye lashes. Maybelline claims that the Falsies make you look like you have three hundred percent more lashes. It is a washable mascara that has been ophthamologist tested and safe for contact lens wearers. It comes in blackest black, very black, and brownish black. The patented spoon brush and flexible wand helps to lift and separate lashes while the Kera-fibre formula helps to instantly build up to eight times more lash volume, without the clumping.

You can find The Falsies anywhere that Maybelline products are sold, from Walmart or Walgreens to your favorite grocery store. Look for the purple tube instead of the old pink and green standard Maybelline mascara. Falsies cost around seven dollars, but are worth every penny to make your lashes stand out and look great! What's not to love about the falsies?

The Falsies is a great mascara, but you do need to learn how to apply it properly to keep it from clumping and to get the most out of your lashes. The Falsies formula is a wetter formula mascara. It goes on a little heavier than a typical mascara, which may take some getting used to. This also means it might clump a bit until you get used to applying it. In the meantime, keep an eyelash brush handy to separate your lashes if they start to clump.

When you apply any mascara, including The Falsies, do not "pump" the wand in and out of the tube, as this will cause the product to dry out faster and introduce more airborne bacteria into your mascara. Simply twist the wand around inside the tube a few times so that the wand is evenly coated with mascara. Turn the wand so that the curve of the brush is parallel to the curve of your lashes, then angle the brush ever so slightly upward so that it looks like the spoon will just slightly cup your lashes. Wiggle the spoon brush of The Falsies down into the base of your lashes and press for a couple of seconds. Gently and slowly pull the brush upwards, pressing your lashes in as you go to curl them. This should coat every lash and curl them beautifully at the same time. Do not press in too far or your lashes will touch your lids and get mascara where you do not want it. If desired, add a second and third coat while the mascara is still wet. This will allow your lashes to be the most pliable and least clumpable. Don't despair if the mascara smears or clumps the first few times you try it. It will take practice to adjust to the spoon and The Falsies mascara formula.

Thank you for this. I was wanting to try it but had no idea if it would just be another gimmick. I wish it was waterproof. My eyes water so often, I will look like a racoon in a jiffy. I wonder if I can put waterproof over it when it dries?
