How to Apply Make-Up : Natural Beauty

Make-up can either be a girl's best friend or worst enemy. To look beautiful, you do not need to "cover" your face in a mask of make-up. Enhancing your natural skin tone and features is what make-up is for. Applying make-up should be a fairly fast and easy process. For a natural look, finding the right colors for your skin tone is the first step. Many times, you can go to your local shopping center or mall and ask for a make-up consultation. The beauty professionals will help you find the right colors and they will show you how to apply the make-up you are purchasing.

When choosing concealer, you want to choose a concealer that has a yellowish tone. The idea of concealer is to cover imperfections and blemishes on the skin, not add color. Because concealer is thicker than foundation, a little bit goes a long way. You should not need to cover your entire face with the concealer. Foundation helps to achieve a flawless complexion and should basically disappear on the skin when you apply it. Make sure that you choose a foundation that is your color, not to dark and not to light. Starting with clean gands and a clean face, apply a moisturizer to your face. After you have applied the concealer and blotted it in, place a small amount of foundation on the back of your hand. Dip a make-up sponge into the foundation and apply to the cebter of your face-cheeks, forehead and chin. Blend the foundation outwards to your hairline and jawline until it dissapears. To set the foundation for all-day coverage, apply loose powder over the foundation immediately.

Creating beautiful eyes is simple. With a few tools and brushes, you can create memorable eyes. First, get out your eyebrow comb and comb your eyebrows upwards and outwards. Make sure your eyebrows aren't too thick or too thin. Eye make-up comes in a wide variety of colors. If you want to acheive a natural look, choose earthy colors-browns, beige, greens, some blues and golden tones. For a drastic look, choose silvers, pinks and purples. Add eye shadow to your eyelid, not the crease! Then, put a lighter shade, or darker for a more dramatic look, above the crease all the way up to your eyebrows. Blend the two colors around the crease. Eyeliner and mascara will add a bolder look to your face. For eyeliner, put a thin line on near your bottom lashes. Start at the outside and work your way inwards. Comb your eyelashes out so that they appear longer and less tangled. Apply a thin coat of mascara to the lashes. Be careful not to clump it up by adding too much mascara. You can comb your lashes again after the mascara has been applied.

You can add a glow to your face with a small sweep of blush. To choose a blush color, pick a shade that resembles the natural color of your cheeks after you exercise. Keeping your blush in the same family color as your lipstick will give your face a balanced look. Blush comes in cream and powder forms. If you have dry skin, consider using cream blush because it will keep your skin hydrated. If your skin is naturally oily, a powder blush may be better. Use a full, round brush to apply your blush so that the blush is applied evenly over your cheeks. Place a small amount of blush to the brush and tap off any excess blush from the end of the brush. If you are using the cream form, add a small amount of the liquid blush to your middle finger. Place powder blush on the apple of your cheek and brush upwards on your cheekbone towards your hairline. Dot the cream blush and blend upwards towards the hairline as well.

Adding lipstick puts a final touch on make-up. Some women like vibrant lips, while others prefer a subtle look. If you like some color, but not alot, line your lips with lipliner and add a nice lipgloss to your lips. For a drastic look, use lipliner as an outliner and fill the lips in with lipstick. Before adding lipliner or lipstick, add a bit of petroleum jelly to your lips for moisturization. If you are using lipliner, add a thin line to the outside of your lips. Choose a shade darker than your lipstick color and start at the middle of the upper lip. You can apply lipstick directly from the tube or with a lipstick brush. Make sure that you coat the lips evenly and then blot with a tissue or toilet paper to remove any access lipstick.

Remember to take your make-up off before going to bed. Leaving make-up on throughout the night will add to blemishes and zits. Use baby wipes to take make-up off quickly and efficiently. Add a good moisturizer to your face after cleansing. Thoroughly cleanse make-up brushes with makeup remover or nonsoap cleanser to keep them bacteria-free.
