How to Ask a Boy to Prom - Be Confident!

Terri Beck
We are not still living in the '50s, we are in modern times and we are modern girls, right? Do you have your eye on a cute guy and you want to ask him to prom? Go for it! Unless he is a total dweeb, he will appreciate your assertiveness. Just make sure you do it right by following my tips!

Here are my tips for asking a boy to prom:

1. Self Confidence
This is my number one tip, whether you are a boy asking a girl to prom or a girl asking a boy. However, it is especially important for the girls. Even in this day and age, there can still be a bit of sexism around. A girl can combat this by having confidence when she goes to ask a boy to prom. Stand up tall, keep your head up, make eye contact and be sure to smile. Most guys cannot resist a girl who knows how to lay on the charm!

2. Get a Makeover
You want to look your best when you ask a boy to prom. You may need to update your style some. Pick a weekend and get your hair done, a manicure and some new clothes. Then go to school on Monday, and walk up to that hot guy and ask him to prom. Even if he rejects you, at least you look hot!

3. Be Realistic
Do not ask the captain of the football team out if you know you are out of his league. This is a hard thing to swallow, I know. We cannot all be Little Miss Popular. Don't worry about it! Just find a guy that you know, you might be surprised to find out that some of them are pretty hot!

4. Make Sure Your Guy is not Already Taken
Nothing could be worse than asking a boy to the prom who already has a girlfriend. It will only be hurtful and humiliating for you. Do some research and make sure your potential date is single. The better you know the guy, the easier it is going to be to ask him to the prom!

If you follow these tips, you will surely get the guy you want to go to the prom with you! You won't regret having the courage to ask your guy to the dance!
