Many people do not even witness the great effects of aspirin on the skin because they may break out during the first week of use. This is normal. This is caused by the aspirin clearing your pores. Your pores cannot clear without the oil and blackheads surfacing. Give it a chance and your skin will begin to clear and possibly be clearer than ever before.
To make the aspirin mask, get a small amount of hot water. Place the aspirin (I generally use 5 tablets) in the water and begin to mash it with a spoon. Wet your face, and then apply the crushed aspirin all over. Rub the crushed aspirin very gently all over the face, avoiding applying it underneath the nose (as the mask dries, the aspirin will flake, and it's possible to inhale small bits if it's too close to the nose).
Leave the mask on until your face is no longer wet and the aspirin easily flakes when you touch your face. This normally takes around 15-20 minutes.
Rinse your face with warm water to remove the mask.
You can apply the mask every day if you'd like, but make sure to use a moisturizer if you noticed increased dryness.
Another tip is to mix the crushed aspirin with honey or plain aloe vera gel. This will ensure the aspirin stays on your face and does not flake. It will also help prevent any potential dryness from the acetylsalicylic acid.
Aspirin is a great way to clear the skin for many individuals with acne. It is also a wonderful way to fade scarring from previous acne.
