How To Avoid Cosmetic Caused Acne

Beckie Yoon
Ever wondered whether the cosmetics you're wearing cause acne? Sometimes, we may feel hesitated to cover up all our acnes because on one hand although it'll give the impression of clearer, fine skin, the other hand may result in more acne.

Sometimes acne does result in what we like to call "cosmetic acne"; in fact, it can be pretty common if inappropriate use of cosmetics is at hand. Typically, cosmetic acne results in small pink, red bumps on your forehead, cheeks, and chin. Cosmetic acne isn't actually the cause of cosmetic; it can aggravate your skin, and act like a trigger. To avoid having any cosmetic acne at all, it is important to follow a couple of guidelines which will prevent the cosmetic from reaching your pores. Some make-up contain ingredients which can easily clog your pores, and with a couple of triggers - bam! Redness, and bumps all over your skin.

Avoid the oily cosmetics

Avoiding the oily cosmetics can prevent them from clogging your pores. Many cosmetic oils can aggravate acne. Products which are labeled as "oil free" are great choices. However, not all oils found in make-up products aggravate the skin, and cause your pores to clog. Some natural oil like sunflower oil, and mineral oil do not clog pores at all. Check the ingredient label on the product to discover if these harmless oils can be found.

Style your hair carefully

If you happen to like to style your hair, be careful of the products, and make sure that they don't touch the roots. Take some precautions like cover your skin when you spray, and keep mousse, and gels away from your skin, and hair line. Have all the products only touch the hair, and not anywhere else.

Wash after exercising

Remember, to wash after exercising especially if you have make-up on. If you can, exercise without any make-up on. The perspiration can bring the gels from your hair all the way to the scalp, and cause irritation. Also, perspiration can cover up the make-up, and store them inside your pores creating break-outs. Even if the product contains oil-free ingredients, it still isn't safe to exercise with your make-up on because the oil may aggravate the make-up. However, if you do choose to exercise with make-up on whatever the reason, be sure to clean up afterwards, and exfoliate your skin. Getting rid of all that oil will help unclog your pores.

Although cosmetics haven't been proven to cause acne, it can sure help the process. Make sure to keep cosmetics, and your face in close supervision in order to prevent any breakouts. Clean your face daily, and you'll be a step closer to those model skin you see on TV.
