Our daily acts do not look that significant. A small mistake, a deprived choice, or a wasted hour usually doesn't result in an immediate and quantifiable impact. More often than not, we run away from any instant consequences of our actions. If we have not worried to read a single book in the past few days, this lack of regulation does not seem to have any instant impact on our lives. And since nothing radical changes happened to us after the first few days, we repeat this mistake in decision for another few days, and on and on it goes. Because, it doesn't seems to matter, and herein lies the big hazard.
Those who consume too many of the incorrect foods are contributing many future fitness problems, but the pleasure of the moment overshadows the result of the future. It does not seam to matter. Those who smoke too much or take alcohol too much go on making these deprived preferences year after year because it doesn't seem to matter. But the pain and feel sorry of these mistakes in decision have only been postponed for a future time. Consequences are hardly ever instant; instead, they build up until the inevitable day of calculation finally arrives and the cost must be paid for our deprived selections-selection that didn't seem to matter.
Failure's most unsafe quality it is delicacy. In the short term those small mistakes don't seem to make any difference. We do not seem to be declining. In fact, sometimes these accumulated mistakes in decision occur throughout a period of huge joy and wealth in our lives. Since nothing awful happens to us, since there are no immediate consequences to detain our attention, we just float from one day to the next, repeating the mistakes, thinking the incorrect thoughts, listening to the incorrect voices and making the incorrect decisions. These mistakes lead our life, this result failure.
