Swine flu has caused a lot of commotion throughout the population, and it is important for us to know how to decrease our chances of getting this flu. But before we get to that, let's talk a bit more about the virus it self, so you can get a better idea of what it is.
The illness caused by the influenza A subtype H1N1 virus is being transmitted through air and human contact, and is gradually becoming a global health scare. There are a lot of people who have been infected and several of them had already died of the disease.
Because of this, it is recommended for people to follow health precautions and safety measures so as to avoid further transmission of swine flu. To prevent the spread of this disease, simple but significant steps must be followed.
• Avoid handshaking or kissing in public as much as possible. Close human contact would make it easier for the virus to get transferred from one person to the other.
• Avoid touching your mouth, eyes, nose, and face to prevent germs from spreading.
• Always wash your hands thoroughly if possible. Keep your hands clean and germ-free especially if you have coughs and colds.
• Stay away from sick people so as not to catch virus, germs, or bacteria.
• If you are sick, do not infect other people. Stay at home and have a good rest until you are fully recovered.
• If you have colds and cough, cover your mouth and nose and dispose of your tissue properly.
Now, the government and authorities in all countries are in red alert so as to prevent swine flu from entering their areas and stop it from being a pandemic. In airports, they are strictly implementing health procedures to avoid passengers from getting infected.
